Thanks for your kind words, Rick. But remember, you’re a big part of this blog. Without your comments, it wouldn’t be the same. The kids’ plight in WAITING FOR SUPERMAN would move you. There’s plenty to disagree with in the film, but the kids are heartbreakingly real.

Despite the anti-teacher union bias, WAITING FOR SUPERMAN will make your eyes misty, Jeff. The kids, and their fate, broke my heart. THE SOCIAL NETWORK, marketed as a drama, has a documentary feel to it so I’m classifying it that way.

You’re right, Patti. It was a great year for documentaries. INSIDE JOB is the best business documentary since ENRON: THE SMARTEST GUYS IN THE ROOM.

I’ll see INSIDE JOB when it pops up on the Netflix queue, same with SOCIAL NETWORK, especially after reading the piece on him as MotY in Time, but WfSuperman doesn’t interest me very much. I think I understand the issues involved, and don’t feel the need to have them shown to me in a documentary.

I know you’re wrapping up 2010, we all are, so let me take this opportunity to say, once again, THANKS! for your blog.

The Superman is so one-sided and slanted there is no chance a former teacher like Jackie would see it. And I have zero interest in Facebook (though we may see it if it is playing in Florida).

Afraid to see one; was put off my the anti public school bias in two; slept through three because I took an antihistamine and drank a glass of red wine. It was a great year for documentaries though.
