KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS, NEW ORLEANS SAINTS VS. PHILADELPHIA EAGLES

There’s plenty of suspense in these two NFL Playoff games. Kansas City, undefeated for over half the season, looks vulnerable. Andrew Luck and the Colts, with their inconsistent play, could win this game by 10 points or lose it by 10 points. The Colts are favored by 2 1/2 points. I’m going with the home team.

The second game generates a lot of mystery. Can the Saints finally win an away Playoff game? I believe the Saints are the better team. But the Eagles are favored by 2 1/2 points. I’m betting the Saints break their away game jinx. I’m picking the Saints. Who do you think will win these games?

I’m not sure if it is wishful thinking or not but I’m with you on the Saints. Don’t really know as much about the other game but I’d go with the home team. However, if the Chiefs can get off to a fast start they could run away with it.

Even here in the New Orleans area we’re not sanguine about the Saints’ chances today. But the Saints only have themselves to blame; if they had been able to hang on and win the two games that they were leading with less than a minute on the clock but ended up losing with just a few seconds remaining, they’d be enjoying a bye week today and be playing in the warm confines if the Super Dome next week. Ah well, on to next season!

I’m picking the Colts, who I think are peaking at a good time and with some injured players back, over the Chiefs, but if Smith has a big day or if Colts turn it over two or three times, it could be the Chiefs. That one is really a toss-up to me.

I’ll be rooting for the Eagles in the other game, because I like the coach, and the quarterback, Foles, went to my alma mater, Arizona. Plus I think they can beat the Saints unless Brees has the game of his career.

The question now is, how well with the 49ers hold up if the “polar vortex” that is coming really makes the game time temperature in Green Bay -7 tomorrow.

Jeff, Art Scott is concerned the merlot-swigging Niners may crumble on the frozen tundra of Green Bay. I think the Niners are the better team, but the weather may play a major factor in the outcome of the game.

Getting ready to watch the Saints, but can’t see how this game could come close to that wild Colts-Chiefs game. Down by four touchdowns and winning by one point? Maybe some of that “luck” will rub off in the Saints!

Things you can’t unsee: The way Al Michaels and Chris Collingsworth are sitting, the word “Saturday” is truncated to “turd.” Man, am I juvenile! But the Saints are winning!

See, I told you so. My teams almost always lose. I guess I should root for the 49ers tomorrow just to hex them.

But I did win $200 at the casino.

I thin the Saints were just lucky. The Eagles apparently left their defense at home yesterday, plus the turnovers.

Another note, more and more I dislike the rule that allows quarterbacks to throw the ball away (no eligible receiver in the area) if they go out of the “tackle box”. I believe there should need to be a receiver in the area all the time, and the “intent to complete the pass” as well. Come on, NFL, RULE CHANGE!
