Back in the 1990s, I read George Gilder’s monthly newsletter. It was aimed at investors in the stock market and it was filled with Gilder’s ideas of a technological future. When Gilder went “all in” on the troubled company Global Crossing…and Global Crossing went bankrupt that was pretty much the end of Gilder as an investment adviser. Gilder’s latest book, Knowledge & Power, presents many of Gilder’s favorite themes: information technology will change everything including politics, capitalism works best with few restrictions or rules, and those who follow Gilder’s ideas will benefit materially. I found Gilder’s book provocative. If you have an interest in economics and technology, you’ll find Knowledge & Power thought-provoking. GRADE: A

George, I don’t understand economics but I like reading about the politics of economics. I think I’d understand a fair deal if I read this book. Some of the chapters sound interesting.
He’s Rich, He’s Tan, He’s Ready – Romney’s the One!
Prashant, you’ll find plenty of fascinating information in KNOWLEDGE & POWER.
Jeff, Romney seems to be everywhere lately. And he’s not even on a book tour like Hillary is.
Sorry, but this sounds really boring. Plus, if is great advice was a bust, why stay with him?
Rick, Gilder made a Big Mistake with Global Crossing. But he’s been right about a lot of tech companies like Qualcomm.
George, the Bills are now officially for sale. Now’s your chance!
Rick, the Buffalo Bills have several potential buyers. But I’m not one of them. I’m more interested in owning books than sports teams.
YAWN.
