Jack Bauer is back on FOX tonight to protect us from terrorist plots and corrupt Government officials. Season Seven of 24 was a bit of a yawner so I’m hoping Season Eight features plenty of explosions and gun-play. The best part of 24 is following Dave Barry’s real-time commentary on each episode. I log on to Dave Barry’s blog before each airing of an episode of 24 and laugh at Dave Barry’s analysis of 24’s mayhem. If you haven’t watched the previous seven seasons of 24 don’t worry. You’ll get up to speed quickly as soon as the bullets start flying. The plotting isn’t that deep.
I haven’t been able to watch it since he shot a woman in the left around Season Three. It also makes me even more paranoid than I already am.
Yes, shooting people in the thigh is one of Jack Bauer’s specialties, Patti. Bil Crider doesn’t watch 24 but he enjoys Dave Barry’s blogging about it.
Can’t wait!
Perimeter!

I’m looking forward to following Dave Barry’s analysis of 24, Jeff. Hilarious!
Of course it will be difficult topping the African snorkelers entering the White House through the Potomac, but I’m hoping that New York brings out the best in Jack and the writers. Can’t wait to see him race his giant SUV through the empty streets of Manhattan at rush hour.
I’m with you on the potential of New York City to give Jack Bauer new targets to blow up, Jeff. I doubt if we’ll see the 24 writers playing the frogman card again.
Pass, thanks.
Bill Crider passes, too, Rick. But he still gets a kick out of Dave Barry’s blog making fun of 24.
The new show coming on right before 24 looks interesting.
HUMAN TARGET looks a lot like 24 to me, Rick.
Every promo I see is the same, Bauer growling hysterically. I’m with Rick and Bill.
Keifer Sutherland has nowhere near the acting talent of his father, Donald Sutherland, Bob. Yet, Keifer got an $80 million contract to play Jack Bauer. I watch 24 for the explosions, gun-play, and loopy plotting. Plus, it’s fun to follow the episode through Dave Barry’s hilarious commentary.
Dave did have some great comments, especially the one saying President Hassan looked like Sam the Sham, which he does!
Tonight: the return of Freckles, Agent Renee!
Plus, Agent Renee Walker is a redhead, Jeff! I liked Dave’s reproducing the cover to that SHAM THE SHAM album!
