Our ancient General Electric portable radio needed replacement so I hopped on the Internet and after some searching found this bargain. The Sangean PR-D9W features a built-in dual alarm clock, battery selector for alkaline/rechargeable NiMH, an AC plug, 19 total memory presets, sleep and snooze functions, and an easy to read large LCD display with adjustable illumination. What more could you ask for? The Sangean PR-D9W lists for $134.95, but AMAZON is selling it for $56.52. That’s a 58% discount! If you need a portable radio, the Sangean PR-D9W should fit your needs. GRADE: A
Looks good. Way to stimulate the economy!
I couldn’t resist 58% off, Jeff.
Looks like a good one. I am in the market for a new TV right now. How big, how difficult and will someone hook it up for us looms large.
If you buy your new HDTV at Best Buy, the Geek Squad will come out and hook everything up, Patti.
Jackie actually bought a new, bigger television and I switched it for our other one (I won’t say “old one” as it is still pretty new) which is now in the bedroom, not hooked up, since before we went to Florida. One of these days we have to pick up a cable box and connect it.
If I could hook it up in a few minutes, anyone can.
Sometimes hooking up the Surround Sound can be tricky, Jeff.
True. We have pretty primitive stuff compared to you high end guys.
I had Art Scott set up my stereo system, Jeff. Always rely on the experts.
We bought one (Panasonic) last Spring. It’s a 42 inch and I wish we’d gotten a 47, minimum. We had a tight space but a 47 would have juuust fit. The saleperson said we needed room on both sides, so we got this one. Wrong, there’s plenty of air cirulation above and below, the 47 woud have fit. Live and learn. As for hook-up, it was a real chores, but that’s because I bought a new TV, receiver, Blu-ray player, CD player and four speakers and had to install the whole system including running speaker wire. Took me the best part of a day, with an adjustment later, and that wasn’t even the TV settings set-up.
We have a 46 inch Sony BRAVIA and it’s perfect, Rick. Fortunately, we were upgrading to Time-Warner’s HDTV package so their technician came out and set everything up for us.
As to the radio, as usual these days, it has twice as many features as I need or want. Nice looking, though, and a great buy.
I really don’t need the Sangean PR-D9W’s alarms or other bells or whistles, Rick. But I’m glad they’re there if I ever need them. The price was right.
