DOCTOR WHO, FALL SEASON FINALE

Tonight, according to the rumors, will be Karen Gillian’s last episode as Companion to The Doctor. The DOCTOR WHO series has had a long history of Companions, but none as winsome and feisty as Karen Gillian. And, being a redhead helps, too. If you haven’t seen a DOCTOR WHO episode, don’t be afraid. Just jump right in. You’ll figure out what’s going on in this series that’s nearing its 50th Anniversary. It isn’t rocket science, its Tardis science (sorry, inside joke).

Yep, she’s a real cutie and tough as she needs to be. I like the red hair as well(my nephew would really agree but he doesn’t watch the Doctor).

And yes, one can jump in anywhere. They don’t make a big deal about past history, even when they bring it into a new story. The best stuff does that.

One wonders where they will go with the Daleks now that the Doctor has been erased from their past. I suppose, being a Timelord, he could run into some past history version.

And a very emotional farewell it was too in a film noir style story set in New York in the late 30s, the present day and something, somewhere in between. Classic stuff by showrunner by Steven Moffat who, for my money, has elevated the show considerably since taking over, and I speak as a diehard fan. Matt Smith and Gillan have become my favpourite combination – now we have to ait until Christmas to see what life without her will be like …

I agree with you on Steven Moffatt, Sergio. Not only are the plots more complex, but there’s always a story arc that extends for an entire season. This is very sophisticated writing, but DOCTOR WHO fans are up to following the twists and turns.

I’m only so-so about this season thus far. I’m enjoying it, don’t get me wrong, but it seems less complex than the previous two and I almost felt the writers didn’t know what to do with the Ponds knowing that they were going to have to write them out of the show. I did enjoy their send off though. Enjoy is probably the wrong word because I am a big fan of redheads and have loved Karen Gillian. But I’m excited about the new companion too. I liked the actress in the first episode of this season. What sucks the most is now having to wait for Christmas for a new episode and then having to wait again for even MORE new episodes.
