KING & MAXWELL, SEASON ONE FINALE

King & Maxwell
Sure, King & Maxwell is Summer fluff. But I find Jon Tenney as Sean King and his partner, Michelle Maxwell (played by Rebecca Romijn) who are ex-Secret Service agents turned private eyes entertaining. Sure, there’s a high quota of silliness. But, hey, it’s Summer TV! I thought the chemistry among the characters jelled as Season One progressed. The story arc about how the politician’s assassination that got Sean King fired from the Secret Service suggests a deep conspiracy. I’ll be watching King and Maxwell if it returns next summer.

I agree. I did not expect to like this one nearly as much as we did. The two of them work well together, only the thankless role of FBI stick (played by Michael O’Keefe) is tiresome, and overall it has been the pleasant surprise of the summer. Of course, my favorite character is the brilliant autistic savant Edgar Roy (played by Ryan Hurst). If you’re going to have a character like this, make him as entertaining as Edgar.

No idea if this is on in the UK yet – but I shall keep my eyes peeled. I thought Rebecca Romijn was great in the X-MEN movies and de Palma’s criminally neglected FEMME FATALE so am happy to give the benefit of the doubt!

i had this one all set to record Monday night when an electrical storm attacked the town. was lucky in only losing cable for a few hours. Some parts lost power as well. I have set it to record later in the week.

My real miss was the latest episode of UNDER THE DOME. Time Warner and CBS happen to be in one of their snit fits over money and CBS On Demand is disabled. Also, you go to their website and I got Time Warner customers not allowed access. I had no choice but to delete it from my record settings as I’m never one to skip a chapter in a book.

Randy, eventually CBS and Time Warner will kiss and make up. And then UNDER THE DOME and the rest of the CBS programming should be available ON DEMAND.
