Happy 4th to you and yours, George! My husband (aka, the Grillmeister) already has a pork butt in the smoker and is preparing a rub for pork ribs, beef ribs, and a duck (!). All I have to do is make some guacamole, put out paper plates, and eat!
We always prepare a feast–there’s plenty for friends who drop by (we’re expecting a few later) and leftovers will mean I don’t have to cook this weekend–and possibly not Monday either!
George, I put lasagna up there in the pizza category as in foods you can’t go wrong with. We did go to a new pizza place yesterday (pretty good) but had barbecue today.
South Beach Diet, day 3: Ground beef patty and some asparagus. No park, no lasagna, no pizza, no potatoes, no ice cream… you get the idea. Oh well, it was a beautiful day here.
And the same to you and Diane, George. Any big barbecue plans? How about some custard?
Jeff, custard is definitely in our plans for the Fourth!
Hope you and yours have a great day, George. We’re expecting a wet one.
Jerry, we’re cool and dry. We have 65 pleasant degrees with low humidity. But it rained like crazy here yesterday!

Deb, you’re lucky to have a Grillmeister to prepare yummy pork ribs, beef ribs, and duck!
I wish I was at your house, Deb. Sounds great.
HAve fun.
Jeff, we might not have a Grillmeister, but we do have pizza and wings!
Happy Fourth, George. Enjoy!
Wow, Deb, you guys are having all that?
Rick, Deb knows how to celebrate the Fourth in style!
We are amazingly cool and rainy at the moment. Though they claim it is 74 it feels at least ten degrees colder.
We still had ribs and sweet potato fries and beans and slaw and cornbread. because that’s our Constitutional right, dammit!
Jeff, Diane threw us a curve and made some delicious vegetable lasagna. Lots of red and white, but no blue.

Deb, Diane made a huge lasagna that will last us all weekend. Great minds think alike!

Jeff, Diane makes several very good lasagnas. With Patrick home, she went with the veggie lasagna. Very yummy!

Rick, the first week of the South Beach Diet really sucks. But it gets better.
A belated Happy Fourth of July to everyone here!
Prashant, thanks for the Happy Fourth wishes!
