Wow! That’s a lot of Lovecraft. I read everything of his I could find in the 1970s – and even went to look at the outside of the house where he lived in Brooklyn! – but haven’t read much of him since. I’ll have to check it out.
Jeff, THE NEW ANNOTATED H. P. LOVECRAFT is terrific! I admire Leslie Klinger’s work on THE NEW ANNOTATED SHERLOCK HOLMES and THE NEW ANNOTATED DRACULA, too.
I had the Holmes already.
Jeff, the DRACULA volume is equally good.
I’ve read some Lovecraft, seen some graphic novels “based on”, read some Lovecraftian short stories, and, frankly, had enough. So this would be triple overload for me. Glad you enjoyed it, but I sure understand why, after the locked room book and this, you’re on short work overload. Time to read some Crider!
Rick, I have a stack of novels and non-fiction waiting for me. Reading Bill Crider’s work is always fun!
This one looks really good, George.
I became a Lovecraft fan during college. None of the movies made of his work ever do it justice.
Beth, I agree with you on H. P. Lovecraft movies. Most are terrible. Capturing Lovecraft’s dread requires a film genius. Maybe Peter Jackson could give it a try. THE NEW ANNOTATED H. P. LOVECRAFT will delight Lovecraft fans!
You’re right. A great value, and I’m tempted.
Bill, you get a lot for your money with THE NEW ANNOTATED H. P. LOVECRAFT.
H. P. Lovecraft is such an excellent writer, with such a brilliant and original imagination; and Mr Klinger’s book really shews, with his superb annotations and excellent story selection, why Lovecraft’s magnificent work remains in print world-wide. Happily, Mr. Klinger is now working on a follow-up volume, THE NEW ANNOTATED H. P. LOVECRAFT: BEYOND THE MYTHOS!! Hooray!!
Wilum, I totally agree with you on H. P. Lovecraft and I’ll be looking forward to Klinger’s new volume. I’ll be celebrating H. P. Lovecraft and related works for a whole week starting July 11, 2016. Check it out!
