I rarely watch a movie twice in two weeks, but my sister from Florida was visiting and wanted to see Jurassic World in 3D. When I reviewed Jurassic World a couple weeks ago (you can check it out here) I pretty much said that it was a perfect Summer pop-corn movie. After seeing it again in 3D, I can report the 3D version of Jurassic World is Superior to the 2D version. That’s not always the case. I’m not a big fan of 3D because most 3D movies aren’t executed very well. But Jurassic World is. Check it out!
It gives me vertigo. 2D for me.

There are few movies that really benefit from 3D – AVATAR, obviously, was the big one. HUGO was another.
Jeff, I loved AVATAR and HUGO in 3D. MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and JURASSIC WORLD look great in 3D, TOO.
I’ve loved 3-D since the ’50s. I always go for the 3-D if there’s a choice.

Beth, you are SOOOOOO right! The 3D version of JURASSIC WORLD is terrific!
My problem is I have to wear the 3-D glasses over my regular glasses, and as they don’t sit securely on my face that way, I have to fiddle with them the whole time. I’d like to see some 3-D films, but having to twiddle with the damn things throughout isn’t worth it.
Rick, the 2D version of JURASSIC WORLD is worth seeing, too!
Which I will no doubt do, once he kiddie surge has abated.

George, I got mixed reviews of this film from my son and daughter, so I decided to watch it on cable whenever it is broadcast. I saw the previous ones on television too.
Prashant, over here JURASSIC WORLD is raking in tons of money. Yes, it’s silly. But it’s an entertaining Summer Movie!
I was rather disappointed by the use of 3-D in AGE OF ULTRON – very interesting to read the case here – thanks George, haven;t seen it yet but I dare say i’ll get dragged along eventually!
Sergio, I wasn’t impressed with the 3D effects in AVENGERS 2: AGE OF ULTRON either. But the 3D effects in MAD MAX: FURY ROAD and JURASSIC WORLD are great!
We may see it next week. We caught up with SPY today and I thought it was better than I’d expected. The back & forth between Melissa McCarthy and Jason Statham was priceless.
Jeff, I found SPY to be more of a spoof of the Bond movies than a pure comedy. McCarthy and Statham really had great chemistry! I hope they both show up in a sequel.
