INDIANAPOLIS BOUCHERCON HIGHLIGHTS

The Indy BOUCHERCON is in the books, but I’ll treasure some of the memories forever. The bestowing of the Don Sandstrom Award on the much deserving Art Scott was the highlight of the convention for me. Bill and Judy Crider, Jeff and Jackie Meyerson, Patti and Phil Abbott, Jeff and Ann Smith, Lynn Kaczmarek, Steve Stilwell, Tina Karelson, Beth Fedyn and Joe Vigna, Ted Hertel, Ted Fitzgerald, Maggie Mason, and dozens of other friends generated so much humor, levity, and merriment that the entire weekend seemed to have a laugh-track. Great friends, great food, and great conversation. Life doesn’t get much better than this!

    Amen.

Readers should get George to tell the story of his own machinations to make sure Art was at the awards ceremony to get his long-deserved prize without giving the secret away.

It was worthy of the CIA!

Despite Diane and my machinations, Jeff, I know Art suspected something a few minutes before he received his award. The Emperor is too sharp to fool easily.

Of course, the other untold highlight of the weekend: Crider goes shopping at the mall with four women and comes back with shoes from Nordstrom’s!

I found myself really, really wishing I was there, until last night, when I was glad I didn’t have to make a flight home.

Sounds like a great time was had, and the DAPA & Friends contingent was a good one. I’m looking forward to the trip reports in the next mailing.
