If you’re a fan of 1990s technopop dance music, you’re probably familiar with La Bouche, an American duo based in Germany. Melanie Thornton and rapper Lane McCray produced a scintillating CD with Sweet Dreams in 1995. The group would go on to release two more dance music CDs, but neither one is as good as Sweat Dreams. Around 2000, Melanie Thornton embarked on a solo career. On November 24, 2001 Melanie Thornton died in a plane crash outside of Zurich. Such a sad fate for such a talented singer! Sweet dreams, Melanie. GRADE: A

Something I have never heard before. I have some techno but this sounds a little too close to the disco side of things for me. I’ll go back to listening to the new U2- a really really good record that I’m loving a lot.
Steve, I have the new U2 on order.
As my alter-ego DiscoDollyDeb would say, Love it! Love it! Love it!
DiscoDollyDeb, SWEET DREAMS by LA BOUCHE tickles my stereo speakers on a regular basis. Wonderful music!
No!
And get off my lawn!
Jeff, I have to be in the mood for 1990s techno pop to listen to music like this. Retro!
1990s technopop dance music. Uh, why?
By the way, right now pretty much everything is a blur in my world. Awful.
Rick, hope things clear up. I’m a big fan of 1990s technopop dance music…when I’m in the mood.
Clarification: left eye a complete blur, right eye, which has not been mucked about with, is same as always.
I’d sooner drive awls into my ears than listen to this crap!
Bob, different strokes for different folks.
Gee, I didn’t know that!
There are times when it’s tough to be just a bit younger than a lot of your friends! Thank goodness for Deb!
Finally got out the revised Underappreciated Music for October/November, including this fine review/sample and Jerry House on the Jim Kweskin Jug Band…definitely an other sort of odd fate.
Todd, I’m more of a technopop guy than a jug band music guy.
