The surprising Jacksonville Jaguars ousted the favored Pittsburgh Steelers to set up this game in New England with the Patriots. The Patriots are favored by 8 1/2 points. Bills fans are rooting for all teams EXCEPT for the New England Patriots. More shocking was the last second play in Minnesota where the New Orleans Saints snatched Defeat from the Jaws of Victory. The Vikings are 3-point favorites against the Eagles. Who do you think will win today?
I’m not buying the “Tom Brady is injured and might not play!” stuff coming out of New England. While the Patriots are the big favorites, I’m like you and all Bills’ fans in hoping the Jaguars are for real. I wouldn’t bet on it, but I’m hoping. As for the other game, bah! This should be the Saints, who I think could have beaten the Eagles. I don’t care for (or about) either team, so I’ m not voting.
Jeff, Bills fans can’t decide whether to root for former Bills Head Coach Doug Marrone–who quit the team and took a $4 million Golden Parachute with him–or root for arch-enemies Brady and Belichick. In the later game, can the Vikings come up with a little more magic to go to the Super Bowl again?
there was a bit in the paper today about brady playing mind tricks and not really injured.
I’d rather see the Jaguars win, but don’t expect it. I’d pick the Vikings, only for the name (and the eagles hired Michael Vick after he was released from prison for animal abuse, so love to see them lose)
I’d never paid much attention to the Jags before last weekend, but they seem to be the most interesting team in the final four. Unfortunately they are probably the least likely of the four to make it to the Super Bowl. But we can hope. I’m an NFC guy, but if the Jags can make it to the big game I’ll be pulling for them.
Michael, I think the Jags might surprise the Patriots today.
We’re close to 300 miles south of Jacksonville, but judging by last weekend, everyone down here is a vocal supporter of the Jaguars.
Jeff, the Jaguars are the “dark horse” team in the Playoffs. Plenty of fans are rooting for them.
I’m so bummed that the Saints aren’t playing today, I can hardly get up the incentive to watch the games (the cough & cold I’ve been fighting off might also be a contributing factor). I have no doubt that Tom Brady’s thumb injury is nothing but a fake-out! I expect the Patriots to trounce J-ville. I’m also picking the Vikings—it isn’t their fault they won last week!
Deb, I too suspect the Tom Brady “hand injury” is Fake News! The Vikings look the “Cinderella” team this year.
I doubt you’d say the injury is a fake if it were any of the other three quarterbacks. A little bias, George?
Rick, coming from the team that brought us SPYGATE and DEFLATEGATE I think most astute NFL fans would be leery of the Patriot’s claims.
Won’t watch, of course, but will check the scores later! I want the Pats and Vikings to lose!
Too bad, so sad. I’ve been saying the same thing for years. You cannot sit back and give Brady time to throw or he will kill you. You need to get pressure on him, get him out of his comfort zone, make him throw before he’s ready.
Jeff, the Jags (like a lot of other teams) stopped playing the Patriots tough when they had a 10-point lead. They don’t understand that the Patriots can erase those leads in mere minutes!
Congrats to the Patriots on going to their 10th Super Bowl. Truly an amazing accomplishment. After that game they will lose both offensive and defensive coordinators (again). Unreal.
Rick, the Patriots seem to have no problem replacing coaches who move on to other teams. Brady and Belichick remain the constants.
I’d like to think the Saints would have given the Eagles a bit more of a challenge, but that’s only in alternate reality.
Deb, I agree. The Saints would have given the Eagles a much closer game. The Vikings were out of the game by Half-time.
