I predict that 202 will go down in history as The Year of The Kelley, in which everything good and prosperous will happen to dudes named Kelley. If I’m wrong, then the Voynich Manuscript will turn out to be a cookbook translated as To Serve Man, the Bills will win the Stanley Cup, Donald Trump will not only be reelected but will also be named both Pope and AntiChrist, the Great Lakes will swallow upstate New York, and Big Orange will turn out to be a Transformer named Put-putt-toot-toot.
Rick, 2019 was a good year for us. My nose surgery went well, we took some fun trips to NYC and Dallas (for BOUCHERCON #50) and San Jose. Our health was good and we enjoyed going to all the movies and plays last year. I hope 2020 is a Good Year for all of us!
I hope so too. I lost the hearing in my left ear Monday, will see Doc tomorrow. Meanwhile watching football is no fun, and I can’t listen to my new CD set from Mosiac. BAH, BAH, etc.
Rick, we just received a phone call from a friend who we usually hear from around Christmas. He’s been in the hospital for TWO weeks because he slipped on ice and fell on his head. He had a concussion and couldn’t walk! Slowly, feeling is returning to his legs, but he still needs to use a walker! Too many of our friends are losing their mobility and hearing! Yikes!
Ouch! It was a year ago when I fell and broke my shoulder so I know how it can be, but a head is obviously a lot worse. My sister in Arizona was telling me of her husband’s concussion following a car accident, and how it took him six months to fully recover.
Be careful out there! We just have a couple more days before we leave for Florida, which we couldn’t do last year, so we are both being as careful as we can.
Jeff, at my last eye appointment during the Summer of 2019, my ophthalmologist said, “I’m going to tell you what I tell all my patients who are 70 and older: Do Not Drive at Night! Nothing Good will happen when you can’t see.”
Dan
This year I resolve to do something nice for myself every day. Won’t you join me?
“I hereby resolve to do something nice for Dan every day.”
Together I think we can make my life much better in 2020.
Yes, life gets more dangerous as you grow older – even routine activities. Last winter I fell while walking in the snow – and a tendon ruptured in my right arm near the shoulder. Of course that hurt and the doc said they can fix it – but it would mean more than a month with a cast and so on …
So he recommended jut getting used to it. And now it’s ok, I can move my arm – when friends ask me I joke sometimes (hope you don’t mind):
I can’t do the H*tler salute …
My sister who lives near London visited her young ones in London just a few weeks ago. She left the underground with two bags and stumbled on the escalator, falling on her face …
They had to sew a sore under her chin, she was lucky that her son could come and help her in the hospital and take her home later.
My wife always says:
Take just one bag and use your other hand to hold yourself, even walking the stairs at home – you never know!
So I wish everybody a healthy year without accidents. Stay safe!
Happy New Year!
Go, Bills.
Jeff, 2020 will start off great if the Bills can engineer a Playoff win in Texas on Saturday!
Happy 2020 to you and yours, George!
Deb, Happy 2020 to you, your family…and the Saints!

Here’s hoping I’m right.
Jerry, Happy 2020 to you and that lysergic acid diethylamide you’re taking! I’ll settle for Good Health and a Bills Playoff win!
Happy New Year, George. I sure hope it’s a good one for you.

Dan, I’ll send you Good Vibes every day in 2020! I also hear rumors that you are under consideration for the next Dallas Cowboys Head Coach job.
Is it 2020? I slept through the transition.
