Diane decided that with the Winter looming and the prospects of another coronavirus Shut-Down on the table, we needed a piece of exercise equipment so we could stay healthy until the vaccine arrives.
We did an Internet search and decided on the BODYCRAFT R200 RECUMBENT BIKE. It’s a commercial product, well-built and solid. Diane and I liked the seat. Many bikes have very uncomfortable seats and some are downright painful to sit on for any period of time.
What are your exercise plans for the Winter?
With my delicate heart I can’t even think about exercise!
Bob, a few minutes of riding a stationary bike would help your ticker.
No, it would kill me.
Nice one! Way to stimulate the economy. Jackie regularly uses (me – less often) the recumbent bike we got some years ago at Sears, but yours looks a lot newer and shinier. Our #1 exercise (other than the bike) is walking. We try to walk from here to the supermarket and back several times a week, and other days walk along Shore Road or through the park, one way or the other, or go down the hill to the pathway along The Narrows and head towards the Verrazano Bridge.
Jackie said that she suggested the bike to you, but you said you had nowhere to put it, so she wants credit.
😉
Jeff, I’m giving credit to Jackie but we had to. move a lot of “stuff” to find a place for the new bike. Fortunately, it’s in the Guest Bedroom with a TV we can watch as we ride.
Jeff, Diane does a lot of walking and insists on mowing the lawn (good exercise, she claims). I’m going to the Pool and doing my aqua jogging. Plus, now I ride the bike. Pretty soon, I’ll be snowplowing with Big Orange!
My exercise plan is to eat as much as possible to increase my body fat, then to burnit off by hibernating all winter. Thus far, in these pandemic times, the first part of my plan is going exceedingly well.
Jerry, I’m with you on hibernating. As soon as November arrives, so will the snow here.
Good question!
Patti, many of our friends (most those with dogs) have fallen during their walks on ill-kept sidewalks. And, we had a friend who was riding his bike in the street who hit a bump, fell off his bike, and got a concussion! So, this indoor bike seems to be a much safer option than outside exercise.
As usual, walk, but not as much as I should. If I had one of these things, it would gather cobwebs n weeks, except we keep the house too clean for that.
Rick, we just schedule our bike ride as part of our day. I prefer the mornings.
I agree with you. Jackie prefers the afternoon, and she reads her tablet while she bikes.
Jeff, I usually watch TV while I bike. If it’s something Good, the minutes just fly by!
Looks nice.
Now if it had 3 wheels (and an electric engine …) I’d use it to go shopping in winter …
But we’ll walk probably – it’s less than a kilometer to the nearest baker, butcher, vegetable store and pharmacy in this small town – that’s enough workout.
And snow hasn’t been seen much in the last winters so no danger of slipping.
Though this happened a few years ago in Germany when our dog was still alive – I fell and cut one tendon in my right arm …
Wolf, no snow yet but we had a hard frost last night.
I go to our Rehfit Centte once a week for a special exercise class and just found out that I can go to a second class as people haven’t been attending. Classes used to have up to 20, but now the max is eight. Very strict guidelines re masks and distancing so I am going to continue as long as it’s considered safe. Ride a stationery machine for 30 minutes as part of the session. Also have been doing lots of walking., but we had some snow on the ground this week so the walks will slow down as it gets colder. I really miss playing hockey twice a week with a 55-plus group, but had to pack it in a couple of years ago due to my kidney issues. Heard this week from a player that they started back a couple of weeks ago, but he gave it up after two games because he didn’t feel safe. I did have an exercise bike for years, but it gathered dust so I finally gave it away.
Kent, we had an exercise bike that gathered dust for years, too. And, like you, we gave it away. Now, with the BODYCRAFT R200 RECUMBENT bike, Diane and I are dedicated to riding it every day.
