Deb, Happy Labor Day to you and your family! We woke up to rain, but supposedly the rest of our day should be dry. Diane is leaning toward an Italian meal for dinner. I think the Caution tape is a metaphor to show how wrapped up that woman is in her work!
Nice caution tape! It is nice and sunny here, going to the low 80s after several comfy days in the mid-70s. Not sure what we are going to eat today. Jackie is waiting for a guy to pick up our area rug from the living room to clean it and he is coming around noon, so we’ll decide after that. In my opinion, you can’t go wrong with Italian.
Jeff, Diane and I enjoy raviolis with marinara sauce. I might go with a sausage, Diane prefers meatballs. We have a loaf of Italian bread. Diane is debating between green beans and spinach. Dessert is still an open question. We have cake, ice cream, sherbet, and fruits. Decisions, decisions…
Jeff, Diane and I prefer the cheese ravioli, but sometimes when we’re eating at a good Italian restaurant we opt for the meat-filled ones.

We get the cheese ones too – whole wheat if available, plain if not.

Happy Labour Day to you all!
We had expected my sister and her husband for this week but two days ago she told me she probably had some virus. Today she visited her doc who told her it was her stomach – not Covid luckily though they’ve had their injections of course.
So I had to eat the lasagne my wife made (with me helping with the mechanical work, arranging the pasta plates) and it was wonderful again.
A few years ago I had the idea of adding green peppercorns to the white sauce – fantastic!
PS:
Of course there were some leftovers which we froze – the work is almost the same whether you cook 2 – 4 portions or a dozen …
Wolf, the Covid-19 cases are increasing here, too. And now we might have to contend with the South African Variant that our vaccines aren’t protective against.
Happy Labor Day to you both. When I was growing up, this was the last day before school started. My Dad always fired up the barbecue (when did it become “the grill”?) and it would be either steaks, or burgers. If the former, there would be a baked potato, hamburgers got no side. Homemade ice cream, usually Peach, for dessert. Today we’re having steak, green beans, salad and fresh Peach pie for me, ice cream for Barbara. The weather is low 80s, clear, slight breeze, so nice to be outside. My glasses go to have new lenses installed, so from 2:00 today on, I will be reading an ebook on the iPad where I can adjust the font size. I’ll get the new glasses back Thursday.
Rick, when my brother and three sisters lived in the area, we used to reserve a shelter at a nearby park and have an old-fashioned picnic. But one by one, all my siblings moved away so Diane and I are pretty much on our own for most Holidays. We might watch a movie tonight or get caught up on programs on our DVR. We’re at 38% capacity.
Our DVR was at 40% and had many great movies we intended to watch, including Casablanca, The Big Sleep, To Have and Have Not,. But the box acted up so we had to get a new one. “All your recordings are in the cloud” the tech assured us, but when the new box was in, only two things remained, both Discovery Channel home shows.
Rick, we had the same problem just before the Pandemic hit. Our DVR was acting up so I took it in to Spectrum. They just gave me a new DVR box. Once we installed it at home…it was empty.
HLD, George and all! The model will have more difficulty removing all that makeup than she will the the wrapping tape, even with body glue on its backing.
Happy Labor Day to one and all!
/I think that poor woman is really going to feel it when that Caution tape gets pulled off.

Have a great one, George.
Patti, we have a fairly peaceful day planned. And, not much Labor!

Jackie was excited the other day when we were able to get whole wheat ravioli. Yum.

Todd, Happy Labor Day. And…don’t work too hard!
