PITTSBURGH STEELERS VS. BUFFALO BILLS

Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills take on Ben Roethlisberger and the Pittsburgh Steelers at balmy Highmark Stadium today. The temperature is supposed to be in the mid-70s with a stiff breeze. The game is a sell-out so 65,000+ screaming fans will be in attendance. The Bills are 6 1/2 point favorites. How will your favorite NFL team perform today?

My only prediction is that today’s games will find it hard to match the Thursday thriller between Dallas and Tampa Bay.

Michael, I confess I thought that Tampa Bay would beat Dallas by 10 or more points. In fact, Dallas should have won that game! Terrible clock management!

My default position until further notice is…the Giants will probably lose. Their offensive line is not up to protecting the quarterback and helping the running game. I expect them to lose at home to the Broncos, but I hope I’m wrong. I will not be watching. Oh, weather-wise? Mid-80s today. Summer is back this week.

Jeff, it’s breezy here and the rain is supposed to move in around 10 A.M. The Bills game might get some sprinkles in the Second Half. The heavy rain is due here around 5 P.M.

Since their 1957 championship, the team has won only a single playoff game in 1992 and never advanced beyond the NFC Championship Game.

Because the Superdome sustained quite a bit of damage in Hurricane Ida (and, as of Friday, was still without power), the Saints will be playing in Jacksonville as the home team versus the Green Bay Packers. I have to confess, since the retirement of Drew Brees, I’ve only followed the news out of the Saints camp with half an ear. I daresay we’ll have the game on, but i suspect Aaron Rodgers & Co. will have little trouble dominating the unseasoned Brees-less Saints.

Detroit Lions have a tough schedule this season and will be lucky to win 4 games. At least they got rid of Matt Patricia. Horrible coach.

Steve, I was never a Matt Patricia fan, either. The Lions will struggle this year, but may turn the corner next year. Green Bay will decline when Aaron Rodgers leaves.

Rick, no barns were burned in the Steelers vs. Bills game, but there was a blocked punt by the Steelers who ran it in for the winner score. Over 60,000 Bills fans went home disappointed…with rain coming down on them.
