Jeff, thanks for your kind Christmas wishes! I’ve gotten a number of complements on that shirt. Of course, Diane bought it for me as she does all my clothes.

Fred, very little relaxing today. We’re hosting the Christmas dinner and within minutes I’ll be stuffing the turkey. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be up a 6 A.M. to drive Katie to the Airport. She’s flying to Boston…and then taking an Uber to work! Then, we’re back to the Airport at 1:30 P.M. to drop Patrick off for his NYC flight. Then…we might be able to relax.

Byron, I’ve always been a fan of Miss Marple and this new book delves into all the novels and short stories! I can’t wait to read it and post a review on this blog! Diane and her Book Club love Amor Towles so Santa brought TABLE FOR TWO for her.

Merry Merry to all who celebrate. We have a mountain of gifts to unwrap (once everyone in the house finally wakes up) including a box of goodies from this George Kelley chap! We’re having our traditional Christmas dinner later today: lamb, marinated overnight in yogurt, lemon, onions, and spices, studded with garlic, and slow-cooked on the big green egg, creamed spinach, Yorkshire puddings, mashed potatoes, and gravy. For dessert, a Gentilly cake (aka, a Chantilly cake with a New Orleans accent) from a local bakery. Have a wonderful day, everyone!

Anybody coming for dinner, Jackie wants to know.

We’re having the traditional Christmukkah dinner – Chinese tale out. Jackie decided on Mongolian beef with brown rice, broccoli in garlic sauce (or possibly brown sauce to blend with the steak), wonton soup and egg rolls.

I wish we were having lamb and Yorkshire pudding!

Jeff, my sister and her husband in Arizona are having Chinese food for Christmas, too! The biggest Christmas surprise was that Patrick and Katie, noticing my 20-year-old wallet, decided to buy me a new replacement. Diane had $10 of Kohl’s Cash and a coupon for 20% off. Patrick and Katie searched all the Kohl’s wallets and found the only Croft & Barrow wallet in the store in the style I prefer. When they were checking out of Kohl’s, the cashier told them: “That wallet is already 50% off. But, since it’s Christmas Eve, I’ll accept the Kohl’s cash and the coupon.” The final price of this wonderful wallet…$1.00! Talk about a Christmas miracle!

Deb, your Christmas dinner sounds fabulous! Merry Christmas to you and your family! Hope you like what’s in your CHRISTMAS BOX!

We’re having turkey, stuffing, gravy, green beans, green salad, Cranberry Jello salad, Mac & Cheese (we have two guests who are addicted to it), and rolls. For dessert, we have banana cream pie, carrot cake cupcakes, chocolate cream pie, and chocolate cupcakes. As you might have figured out, we also have some chocolate addicts attending, too.

Merry Christmas to you, George and your family!
And of course to everybody on this wonderful blog.
Here it’s quiet but before New Year arrives we’ll have a big party with my wife’s family – all together nine hungry and thirsty people …

Scott, Merry Christmas to you and yours! I haven’t sent you a CHRISTMAS BOX because I know you are moving. Let me know where to send it…or we can skip 2024. Your choice!

    Merry Christmas to all.

Ann is making her specialty, Chicken Kiev. I can call the city Kyiv, but my mouth hasn’t been trained to say Chicken Kyiv yet. Just the two of us.
