NFL CONFERENCE CHAMPIONSHIPS: KANSAS CITY CHIEFS VS. BALTIMORE RAVENS and DETROIT LIONS VS. SAN FRANCISCO 49ers

The Buffalo Bills, eliminated in the NFL Divisional Round–again–will be sitting on the sidelines as the Kansas City Chiefs look to go to another Super Bowl. But, I’m rooting for Jeff Smith’s Baltimore Ravens (who are favored by 4 points) to knock off the Chiefs.

The Detroit Lions travel to the City by the Bay to battle with the San Francisco 49ers. The 49ers are favored by 7 points. Can the Lions pull off the Upset? Who do you think will win these games?

Obviously I’m rooting for the Lions since I’m from the area. I know they are the underdogs, but everyone loves the underdog.

Yes, I think everyone (other than Art Scott) will be rooting for the Lions to pull off the upset, not least of the reasons being that the Ravens made the Niners look like the Giants when last they played. My major rooting interest today, however, will be that the Ravens stomp the Chiefs.

But no predictions, as we know how bad I am at them. I think it is most likely that it will be a Ravens-Niners Super Bowl, which would be OK as they are the two best teams, but I’d like to see the Lions win it.

No skin in the games whatsoever, but don’t you think it’s SO CUTE that every time Travis Kelce scores a touchdown he throws the heart sign up at Taylor Swift??

Jeff, Taylor Swift and the Kelse Family are financially benefiting from all this attention. I can’t turn on my TV without seeing a Kelse commercial!

Deb, I know the NFL is hoping the Chiefs pull the upset in Baltimore so Taylor Swift can be part of the Super Bowl festivities. More young viewers!

Too bad for the Swifties that the Traylor phenomenon came too late to book Taylor as the SB LVIII half-time act. But there’s still time for the Dems to nominate Taylor for President and Travis for VP. I’ll go with KC but you and the odds-makers are probably correct in picking Baltimore .

Taylor has turned down the halftime gig multiple years. I wonder if it will make a difference now that she’s a football fan.

Well, the Ravens sure didn’t look like the best team in the AFC today. Even keeping the Chiefs from scoring in the second half, two end zone turnovers (a pass into triple coverage?) and too many penalties did us in.

Jeff, sorry the Ravens lost to the Chiefs. We Bills fans know that feeling all too well! Congratulations to Art Scott and his San Francisco 49ers! Sorry to Steve, Patti, and all the other Detroit Lions fans. Better luck next year.
