To get you in the mood for Valentine’s Day here’s Valentine Musical Selections from 1997. These 16 songs are not the usual mix of love songs. Yes, there’s Curtis Mayfield’s “Oh So Beautiful” but I’m guessing most of you are not familiar with Holly Palmer’s “Come Lie With Me” or Nu Flavor’s “Heaven.
For Smooth Jazz fans there’s “Seduction” by Boney James and Hiroshima’s “Love How You Love Me.” If that music doesn’t get you the the mood for amour, nothing will. Do you have any plans for Valentine’s Day? GRADE: B+

It’s always Sade’s Greatest Hits for the win!
/We just got back from our anniversary trip, so Valentine’s Day is going to consist of chicken wings and watching the next installment of “Perry Mason” (we’re working our way through the entire series). 😂
Deb, I know a couple more people who are working their way through PERRY MASON. You can’t go wrong with Chicken Wings!
Most of these songs don’t do much for me, and many I just cannot remember. Offhand, the most romantic songs I can think of are Tom Paxton’s “My Lady Is a Wild Flying Dove” and Dooley Wilson’s “As Time Goes By.” I’m an old fart.
Jerry, Oldies but Goodies!
Drawing a blank on all of these. Except for Quincy Jones, Chaka Khan, Curtis Mayfield, and Donovan, I don’t even know the performers. Speaking of Donovan . . . what’s he doing there??
Fred, Donovan pops up on these CD compilations from time to time.
