Mention My Name in Hell by Daniel Boyd (aka, Dan Stumpf) is the latest Streak Wilson western. Streak is quick with a gun and has both trouble and The Devil following him. In the past two years, Streak has worked for Wells Fargo, protecting valuable, high priority shipments. He’s also killed 8 men in that time span.
Two bizarre characters, Headless Hinchley and Slasher Jim Trask, want one of those valuable, high priority shipments, specifically the one that’s carrying The Grand Grimoire (aka, The Red Dragon or Satan’s Bible).
Streak Wilson is the only thing standing between them and The Grand Grimoire’s incantation for returning the Dead to living form. If you’re in the mood for a weird western with plenty of surprises, Mention My Name in Hell delivers. GRADE: A
Sounds like fun!
Patti, MENTION MY NAME IN HELL just showed up unexpectedly so I dropped everything and read it in a day. A fun read and great timing for Halloween!
Dan’s books are always fun. I know I still have a couple of them unread on my Kindle, so need to catch up.
Jeff, MENTION MY NAME IN HELL blends action with Dan Stumpf’s wit!
George the Tempter strikes again! i also ordered the earlier THE DEVIL AND STREAK WILSON. Mucho gracias, George!
There is a third Streak Wilson book, Jerry – GONE TO GRAVEYARDS.
Jeff, I’ve enjoyed all the Steak Wilson books. AESOP’S TRAVELS (2023), won the Spur Award from the Western Writers of America for Best Traditional Novel.
I just jumped on it. Thanks, Jeff!
Jerry, you’ll enjoy Dan Stumpf’s books!
I can’t read the words “Wells Fargo” without hearing that song from “The Music Man” in my head.
I’ve seen a lot of western films and am surprisingly digging the new WEST channel with its 24/7 serving of vintage western television shows from the 50s and 60s but I have yet to read anything in the genre.
One of these days…
Byron, if you get the urge to read a Western by a contemporary writer, I recommend a book like MENTION MY NAME IN HELL.
Hard pass!
