Given the current political environment and the Buffalo Bills reverting to Normal (losing), I needed some laughs. This new Blu-ray edition of A Fish Called Wanda proved to be the perfect tonic! John Cleese, Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Kline, and Michael Palin make up the excellent cast. I first saw A Fish Called Wanda back in 1988 and its humor and cleverness stayed with me ever since. Kevin Kline won an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role as the psychopathic Otto. If you’re looking for some diverting fun and frivolity, A Fish Called Wanda delivers. GRADE: A

I saw this several times when it came out and laughed myself silly. About time I watched it again really …
Sergio, I laughed myself silly watching A FISH CALLED WANDA, too! Brilliantly funny movie!
I love this movie. Passed on buying it due to its high price.
Steve, you’ll see the price of this wonderful edition of A FISH CALLED WANDA fall after Christmas.
We have talked about rewatching this a lot lately. I hope it holds up for us. We loved it the first time.
Patti, A FISH CALLED WANDA held up for me.
A true classic. Of course, Jackie is a huge Kevin Kline fan.
“Don’t call me stupid.”
Jeff, A FISH CALLED WANDA has a great cast!
Like the other commenters, I love it. One of the funniest movies ever.
Bill, you’re right. A FISH CALLED WANDA is a very funny movie!
I love this movie. I’ll be looking for this edition after Christmas, so thanks for the heads up. I already have it on dvd, but the extras sound wonderful
Whassamatta, you don’t find the current political climate funny enough?
Dan, the current political climate is “stupid funny.” Roy Moore takes the cake!
So where’s the fish?
Rick, the fish is just swimming around.
British humour, especially the John Cleese type is something special!
Monty Python, Fawlty Towers, Time Bandits are other examples – do you know them and like them too?
I still remember seeing some of that stuff starting in the late 60s on our local 3rd tv channel (that was before commercial channels came to Germany).
Wolf, I’m a big fan of MONTY PYTHON, FAWLTY TOWERS, and TIME BANDITS. But, some people don’t “get” British humor.
George, we had and still have that problem in Germany (and probably other European countriest too) – but it’s changed partially thanks to Rowan Atkinson aka Mr Bean who was a big success here.
But there always was a minority of fans of British humour – to which me and my friends belonged after we first saw it …
If you can find it check out Clockwise with John Cleese.
Another excellent movie. And don’t forget LIFE OF BRIAN.
Jeff, that was a kind of shock for many!
The irreverence …
Nope! I saw it years ago an found it unfunny and annoying! Not a fan of Kline!
