Agent Carter is a retro-Marvel series. Tonight’s 2-hour episode introduces Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter who becomes an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. during World War II. Typical action-packed adventure results. Plenty of Nazi bashing. There are only 8 episodes in this mini-series. Will this lead to a full-fledged series? We’ll have to wait and see. But, if you’re looking for a way to enter the Marvel Universe, Agent Carter might be the way to go.
Not interested.
Jeff, I’m starting to suspect you’re a follower of Hydra!
Thinking about it.
Patti, AGENT CARTER looks like fun. And, there’s just not much on TV to compete with it.
The review I read this morning says the pilot episode takes place AFTER WWII, but that’s a quibble. It was a positive review, I often enjoy 40’s period drama and may tune in.
Rick, the WWII (pre-and-post) time period will probably involve the Red Skull and HYDRA. I’m looking forward to this mini-series.
Love the pseudo-pulp cover down below! I’d buy it. And I will be watching tonight (or on the DVR)
Scott, I thought you might enjoy that faux-pulp cover!
We are planning on watching it tonight. I liked her character in the first Captain America film and enjoy the period setting, so I’m hoping it will start off strong.
Carl, I’m hoping the production values are high.
So, how was it? I was going to watch but was reading and just forgot.
Rick, loved it! I’m sure you could catch AGENT CARTER On Demand or on the ABC web site.
I just may try it on On Demand.
I thought it was fantastic.
Carl, I’m hoping AGENT CARTER generates enough ratings to become a regular program on ABC. I love the retro look!
Oh, it was just gorgeous. The clothes, the sets, the vehicles…everything was so beautifully retro. I don’t watch many tv shows live, but this is one I’m going to try to catch as it happens.
