A CHRISTMAS CORNUCOPIA By Annie Lennox

We have about a 100 CDs of Christmas music (Diane is a big fan) so why do we need any more? Well, Annie Lennox, half of the Eurythmics, is one of our favorite singers. Her unique voice and flare for the unusual produces some very enjoyable music. A Christmas Cornucopia mixes standards like “Silent Night” with some songs that were new to us like “Angels From the Realms of Glory” and “In the Bleak Midwinter.” If you’re looking for a blend of familiar and not so familiar Christmas songs, listen to A Christmas Cornucopia. It might just be what you’re looking for during the Holiday Season. GRADE: B

We’ve accumulated a lot of music CDs over the years, Patti. It seems that every Christmas, we buy one or two more CDs of holiday music although we have more than enough.

I only like a few Christmas things so I won’t be buying this one.

I guess Diane really likes Christmas music!

If it were up to Diane, the Christmas tree would stay up all year round and the house would be full of Christmas music even in July, Jeff. Of course, some people say it’s always Christmas at the Kelleys!

George, I’m guessing you’re not Episcopalian if you’re unfamiliar with “In the Bleak Midwinter”! It’s adapted from a poem by Christina Rossetti and is a staple of Episcopal Christmas services.

We weren’t impressed with her performance at the tree lighting at Rockerfeller, and I’d probably go with a different artist if I were buying additional Christmas CDs – which I’ll probably not do, since we also have well over 100. I did buy Karajan’s The Christmas Concert CD, however.

Well then, George, you probably know all the songs they sing in the “Star Wars Christmas Special” which, alas, I don’t.
