You can’t go wrong with early Motown.
My feelings exactly, Jeff! And the price is right.
Personally I’d rather hear it than look at it. When I hear the songs (for instance, “Do You Love Me” by The Contours, which I assume is on this DVD) the memories come flooding back. When I watch it, while I enjoy the music, I also notice the clothes, the venue, the audience, how young they look – or in the case of a comeback tour how old everyone has gotten and how their voices have changed. So good for the companies who put these performances on DVD, I’m just not the audience for them. Sounds like you enjoyed them a lot.
I grew up on Motown, Rick. And I love the vintage footage when the groups would do those cool moves!
Rick, we saw the Contours in concert earlier this year and they (with the original lead singer) still sound good.
I love the Contours, Jeff. Songs from that era just energize me. When I heard them, I just have to get up and dance!
