This box set of 7 DVDs once cost $59.99 on AMAZON. But now you can buy these terrific movies for a mere $17.99! The box set of The Complete Thin Man Collection includes: The Thin Man / After the Thin Man / Another Thin Man / Shadow of the Thin Man / The Thin Man Goes Home / Song of the Thin Man / Alias Nick and Nora). DVD extras include 2 radio dramas, vintage cartoons, and the TV series pilot with Peter Lawford and Phyllis Kirk. Don’t miss this one!
At least “It works!” is now only popping up in Chrome.
Patrick tells me browsers need to refresh addresses and when they do, my new address will replace the “It Works!” message, Todd.
I saw that boxed set in Costco but the odds on watching them all again are small so we passed on it.
I have fond memories of this series so I bought it, Jeff.
I wish I could be the complete thin woman.
I think you’re perfect just the way you are, Patti!
I like the first couple of them, but as the series went along the quality of writing plummeted. I’ll skip, but thanks for the heads-up.
I’m not sure I saw the later movies in the Thin Man series, Rick. If I did, I’ve totally forgotten them. You’re right, the quality of the scripts declined as the series went on.
I have this odd habit: Once I own a DVD I almost never watch it.
Diane accuses me of that odd habit, too, Bob. But I usually do get around to watching (and reading) the DVDs and books I acquire…but it might take years.
Great bargain for some great films. I actually like them all except the very last one which feels like they lost something, but I don’t personally feel the quality diminishes significantly over the course of the first 4 films. I am especially fond of the third one, The Thin Man Goes Home because the humor of that one is right up there.
I watched these movies years ago, Carl, and enjoyed them. As I mentioned to Rick, I’m not sure I saw all of the Thin Man movies. But I’m still on vacation so I’ll probably just dive in and watch them one after another.
Oops, I should have said the 5th one was The Thin Man Goes Home. Doh!
