The Martin Scorsese Collection (After Hours/Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore/Goodfellas/Mean Streets/Who’s That Knocking At My Door?) goes for $50.49 on AMAZON. Sam’s Club is selling it for $26.46. Scorsese’s movies possess a fascination and a unique energy lacking in other movies. Some people consider Goodfellas to be the best gangster movie ever made, trumping The Godfather II. All of Scorsese’s films challenge the viewer with great acting and intelligent plotting. To buy this package of five great movies for a little more than $5.00 a DVD is truly a steal. Don’t miss out!
If I were going to begin a collection, I’d begin here.
I agree with you, Patti. Scorsese’s work is essential. And this package is a bargain.
Not being that much of a Scorsese fan, I’ve only seen Goodfellas of this list of films. George will say I must see the res, but I’ll probably pass. If I sound a little down, see my blog for the reason.
On the other hand, if I feel happy and up, see my blog for that reason too.
We’re going to watch Miracle at St. Ana tonight. Any thoughts?
It seems like once every season, USC loses to a weaker team. Miracle at St. Ana opened and closed here in one week. No one went to see it. If you haven’t seen the rest of the films in The Scorsese Collection, you have some great movies to enjoy, Rick.
That piece of crap he won the Oscar for last year tells me he’s overrated in some quarters.
I’m with you on THE DEPARTED, Bob. I think he won because of a “sympathy” vote. But his early work still holds up.
