Last year Patrick saw Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn at a concert in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He liked their energetic banjo music. When Diane discovered that Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn were coming to Buffalo, we immediately bought tickets. You can check out the video below to sample what we’re going to see and hear tonight. If you’re in the mood for something different, I recommend Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn’s music. They’re terrific!
Cool. I’ve always liked banjo music – the last group we saw was Steve Martin’s, at Jazzfest. Have fun!
Jeff, Bela and Abigail could show Steve Martin some tricks with the banjo! They’re masters of the instrument.
I like it too. Have a great time.
Patti, we like to mix things up. Earlier this week, Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band was in town for a concert.
George, did you go to Springsteen’s concert?
He’ll come to Europe this summer, but only to large arenas – not our type of venue …
When I read the name “Béla” I thought – A Hungarian?
But it seems he got the name because his mother loved Béla Bartok.
Btw the wikipedia entries on the couple read like fairy tales – fantastic!
I’ll have to check their music too, thanks!
Wolf, I have a couple Springsteen concerts on Blu-ray. And, I have all his CDs. The Buffalo Springsteen concert was sold-out. Tickets were going for $1000 a pair at showtime!
I’m on a list with a lot of old folkies, some of whom are long-time Fleck fans. He can make the banjo ring.
Bill, we’re looking forward to this concert. Great musicians always delight us!
