Big Damn Sin City is a damn big book! At 1360 pages, this book weighs 12.2 pounds. This new coffee-table format tome from Dark Horse Books arrived just as Sin City 2: A Dame to Die For opens in the movie theaters. Big Damn Sin City collects all seven of Frank Miller’s classic Sin City graphic novels! This is hardcore noir. I’m convinced Big Damn Sin City will become an instant collector’s item. If you’re a fan, this is a must-buy. If you’re an investor, I’m confident this book’s value will beat the S&P 500 returns easily.
$500? Gulp 🙂 I did enjoy the first film though I’m not sure how excited I am by the prospect of more of the same, though the cast is certainly eclectic!
Sergio, I’m going to see SIN CITY 2: A DAME TO DIE FOR later today. My review will be up on this blog Sunday. AMAZON sells BIG DAMN SIN CITY for $59.99.
Twelve POUNDS? Wow.
Not for me. Ditto for the new movie.
Jeff, the product description for BIG DAMN SIN CITY on AMAZON say it’s suitable for “home defense.”
Maybe a sound investment, but not for me. I like small books.
Bill, BIG DAMN SIN CITY is the heaviest book I own!
FYI, George, I’m collecting the links for Patti today. Here’s the permalink:

BV, thanks for substituting for Patti! We all appreciate it!
I’d rather have the set of regular sized graphic novels than this monster. Easier to handle and read. For me, a little Sin City goes a long way. I’s partly the story lines and partly the density of the ink work.
Rick, you’re right about BIG DAMN SIN CITY being unwieldy. I have several of the single graphic novels. They are unique.
A bit of history. In the early ’70s I was in a comics apa called APA-5. So was Frank Miller, who was a high school kid at the time. One year I moved into a house with some friends and the place had previously been home to a group of bikers. The house was called Sin City. I wrote about it in the apa and I contend that Miller appropriated the name years later.
Bob, I forgot all about that story! You’re right. Frank Miller has certainly made Sin City famous!
