The Buffalo Bills enter this First Game of the season with plenty of question marks. Can QB E. J. Manuel stay healthy and develop? Can the Bills defense overcome the losses of Kiki Alonso (best defensive player, he blew out his ACL working out in the pre-season) and All-Pro free safety Jairus Byrd (who signed with New Orleans)? The Bills have never won a game at Chicago. Their prospects look dim this time, too. How is your favorite NFL team going to fare today?
I am not going to be lured into watching the Detroit Lions until they have won a few games.
Patti, the Lions may surprise a lot of people this season.
The Saints travel to enemy territory to take on “the dirty birds”–i.e., they are in Atlanta to take on division rival, the Falcons. I think the oddsmakers are giving the boys in black and gold the edge, but the team made so many changes in the off-season, it looks like a completely new team. Also, it’s really hard for me to get excited about football when we still have a month of baseball left.
Deb, you have a new free safety on the Saints, Jairus Byrd, who is terrific. He makes a lot of interceptions.
I can guarantee the Giants will not lose today. Of course, they aren’t playing until Monday night in Detroit. We’ll see if it takes Eli Manning 16 games to learn the new offense. There is just no way of knowing how it will go but it would not be an upset if the Lions won.
I love all the so-called experts with their tortuous reasoning. There was a guy on line a few days ago picking a lot of upset winners in week one. He knew that even when the Seahawks weren’t that great they went undefeated at home. And yet he picked the Packers to not only beat the spread but to win outright.
Moron.
Jeff, you’re right about a lot of morons pretending to be football “experts.” That’s why Vegas always wins. I’m looking forward to the Colts vs. Broncos game tonight. I think the Colts will win.
Like Jeff, I can guarantee my team will not lose today. Of course, they had a convincing win Thursday. I was joyous about Oregon’s big win yesterday over Michigan State, who led at the half. Naturally, I had my Oregon shirt on during the game. Good teams here!
Buffalo can’t seem to hang on to the good players and use their draft choices as wisely as possible. Like you, I doubt they will beat a strong Bears team today.
Rick, the Bills have been one of the most dysfunctional teams in the NFL during the past 15 years. Hopefully the new owner will make a big difference.
Let’s see who ends up owning the Bills and what they do.
Jeff, you are right on the money.
Bummer, Deb. I was rooting for the Saints.
Jeff, the Saints are a different team when they’re on the road. I thought they would win, too.
Good deal on them Bills
Randy, I’m still in shock with the Bills win over da Bears! Next week, the Bills take on the Dolphins who surprised Tom Brady and the Patriots today.
Break up the Bills!
Jeff, it’s a little too soon to get excited over the Bills’ season. But the win over the Bears lifted all of our spirits here!
Saints have some work to do on defense!
Deb, a lot of NFL teams need to work on their defenses. I thought the Saints had their game in the bag, but the Falcons came back and forced OT.
CONGRATULATIONS on the Bills victory! I didn’t see any of the game, not even highlights, but the final score looks great. Last second field goal, I presume. Buffalo is tied for first place in the AFC East! (or is it North…)
Rick, we Bills fans are still coping with the Bills unexpected win over the Bears. We’re not used to winning away games.
Boy, the Giants looked crappy last night. Bet Patti is happy about the Lions nice win.
