The 2-6 Cleveland Browns are 2 1/2-point favorites over the 6-2 Buffalo Bills. Someone in Vegas “knows something.” If the Bills manage to win in Cleveland today, they will have won four straight Away Games…the first time they’ve accomplished that feat since 1963! The Browns have lost four straight games and their Head Coach, Freddie Kitchens, is on the Hot Seat. “Experts” predicted the Browns would be going to the Super Bowl this year. Oops! How will your favorite NFL team perform today?
After LSU’s dramatic win over Alabama yesterday, I’m not sure those of us in the Pelican State can stand too much more excitement, so I’m hoping the 7-1 Saints will have an easy time of things at home against the 1-7 Falcons today. However, I hope the Boys in Black-and-Gold don’t get too complacent. Brees & Co. need to come out swinging and not stop until the final whistle.
Deb, your intuition about complacency was right on the money. The Falcons stole a game from the Saints! Congratulations on the LSU victory!
The Saints played in a lethargic manner and the offensive line allowed Brees to get sacked SIX times! An utter debacle!
Deb, the Saints may have been lethargic because of the BYE WEEK hangover. They’ll get back on track next week.
You can call it the Garbage Bowl or the Toilet Bowl or Loser Bowl, but the 2-7 Giants against the 1-7 Jets today is not likely to be in the same category of excitement as LSU vs. Alabama. Of course, the only real answer is…who cares? Maybe the Giants will wake from their self-destructive tendencies, but I wouldn’t bet on it.
Jeff, your intuition about the Giants was just as right-on as Deb’s about the Saints!
I sure didn’t read any experts saying the Browns would go to the Super Bowl, George. A few analysts thought there was a slight chance they would make the playoffs, which has been shown to be a false hope. They have talent, but no cohesiveness. Barring injury, the Bills should win.
Monday is Seahawks – 49ers, and it will be tough. Too bad the Seahawks don’t have the defense they once did, especially against the pass.
Rick, the most money in Vegas was bet on the Browns to go to the Super Bowl. The Bills missed two field goals and lost to the Browns. Next week, the Bills take on the Dolphins.
I guarantee that the Giants will not lose next week!
Yes. It is their bye week.
Jeff, the Giants had the lead briefly against the Jets. They just couldn’t hold it.
