BUFFALO BILLS VS. DETROIT LIONS

buffalo bills vs. detroit lions
After the debacle in Houston last week, the Bills benched rookie QB E.J. Manuel and installed ancient backup Kyle Orton as their “new” quarterback. Disaster awaits the Bills in Detroit. The Lions are a much better team. The Lions lead the NFL in defense. Kyle Orton hasn’t played a down in over a year. And, most disturbing, Orton lost his job in Denver to Tim Tebow. It feels like the wheels are coming off of the Bills’ season. I’m sure the new owner of the Bills can’t be happy with this situation. How will your favorite NFL team do today?

My favorite team plays on Monday night; the Seahawks against hated Washington. I’ll bet the Bills whip Lion butt. Unless, of course, they don’t.

Never underestimate what the Lions can do to lose a game they should win on paper. I will be more focused on the lot of the Tigers today who have played horribly so far.

Patti, I’m shocked that the Tigers are down two games. Things should change today. The Lions should win easily over the Bills.

Bummer, George. Maybe the Lions will be overconfident?

The Giants have righted the ship after the disasters of the first two weeks, but after ten days off they face the tough Falcons at the Meadowlands. I’m hoping the 46 degree temperatures and the winds knock Atlanta off its game.

It’s a real Clash of the Titans (NOT!) as the 1-3 Saints limp back to the Superdome to face the 0-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The question is, which porous defense will hold up the best? It’s a fact universally acknowledged that the Saints play better at home, so I’m wearing my fleur-de-lis brooch and earrings today and hoping for the best!

Deb, the Saints signed former Buffalo Bill safety Jairus Byrd for over $50 million. Byrd was injured last season and now he’s out for the year with another injury. The Saints tied up too much money in one player. That may come back to bite them. But, the Saints should beat the Bucs today.

I think Seahawks beat Washington, Lions beat Bills, Dallas beats Houston, Tampa Bay upsets New Orleans, Broncos beat Cardinals and Chargers beat Jets.

However, please note that EVERY SINGLE TEAM I was pulling for since Thursday has lost. Ducks, Tigers, Angels.

Bucs leading 31-20 in the 4th quarter? The Saints are becoming a travesty! I’m giving up! It’s baseball from here to the World Series. I just can’t with this team anymore.

Sounds like Deb is becoming an “Ain’t”, like the bad old days. Don’t give up, Deb. The Saints have had some great season recently and still a good team. Even good teams stumble on occasion.

Way to go, Bills! Nice comeback. And Dallas had to go into overtime before barely eking out a win. The Eagles nearly blew a 27 point lead in the fourth quarter at home.

The Giants sucked in the first half but just wore the Falcons down in the second. Jason Pierre-Paul is a monster again. I hadn’t realized the Falcons have now lost ten straight games outdoors since they won in Tampa two years ago. They are in trouble.

Jeff, all Bills fans are astonished that Kyle Orton threw for 308 yards (he hadn’t taken a snap since December 2013). And the Lions really really need a field-goal kicker! The Falcons are a pure dome team.

Yeah, but who could foresee a 58 yard field goal? I was really hoping the Texans would pull it out against the Cowboys, but unfortunately…

The Jets finally benched Geno Smith but he might be taking Rex Ryan down with him. It’s 28-0 and they look dreadful.

Jeff, Geno Smith is in the same boat that E.J. Manuel was in: both aren’t ready for Prime Time. Kyle Orton, for all the rust on him, hit his receivers…something E.J. and Geno can’t do on a consistent basis.

So far all the baseball games are going the way I don’t want them to.

Anent the Texans/Hated Cowboys game: First drive in OT, Texans have the ball. Their running back is punching holes in the Cowboys’ line. Third and two, so what play do they call? A pass. Incomplete. Dallas rallies to win with a FG. Chalk this loss up to a lame play caller, likely the coach.
