BUFFALO BILLS VS. INDIANAPOLIS COLTS (CBS)

The 7-2 Buffalo Bills travel to Indianapolis to take on the 4-5 Colts. Both teams are dealing with injuries. The Bills may have two receivers out because of wrist injuries: Amari Cooper and Keon Colman. The last time the Bills played the Colts, running back Jonathan Butler scored FIVE touchdowns. The Bills have trouble defending the run and they’ll be tested today. The Bills are 4½ point favorites.

Many Bills fans fear that today’s game is a “trap” game because the Bills face the unbeaten Kansas City Chiefs next Sunday. How will your favorite NFL team do today?

The miserable 2-7 Saints host the 6-3 Falcons in the Superdome today. After last week’s one point loss to the execrable Panthers, the Saints’ head coach was fired—which was undoubtedly too little, too late. John has already “retired” his trusty Drew Brees football jersey for the season and put away the Saints cowbell (a throw from a long ago Mardi Gras parade) that we would ring every time the Saints scored. All we can look forward to now is next season and getting a high draft pick!

    Great!

No, doubtful. The pathetic 2-7 Giants are in Germany taking on the equally pathetic (as Deb rightly called them, “execrable”) Carolina Panthers in LoserBowl ’24. I guess we’ll see who gets a leg up (or is it down?) on the top pick in the draft (along with the Saints and a couple of others). If the Giants lose again, expect more firings this week. Sadly, they are unlikely to jettison Daniel Jones, but he could be benched.

    Go, Bills!

Jeff, we’re getting to the point in the NFL season where teams start to “tank” in order to get better Draft picks. The Bills have two injured wide receivers so I’m expecting a lot of running in this game.

“Did you ever think you would watch an NFL game this year where Bryce Young is the best quarterback on the field?”

        And:

        “Leave Daniel Young in Germany.”

Just appalling. Two more horrible interceptions. Then, after they came back from 17-7 to tie it with 5 seconds left, they fumble THE FIRST SNAP in overtime and give up the winning field goal.

He’s going to get Brian Daboll fired, if he hasn’t already.

70 000 people watched that game in Munich:
German media reported very positively – it took overtime to get a winner.

The Ravens played Thursday night — winning by the skin of their teeth in a very entertaining game — so just mild rooting interests today.

Last night I watched Maryland (my local team) play Oregon (the team I root for) in what turned out not to be a very good game. Neither team played particularly well. Maryland hung with #1 Oregon for a while, close enough that Oregon had to open its bag of tricks for a number of gadget plays to kickstart themselves. They ended up winning 39-18, but they didn’t play as well as they have been.

Niners won a last second squeaker they should have lost. Will be astonished if they don’t have a new placekicker next week. McCaffrey looked ok, but not up to healthy standard. Don’t look much like a post-season power. Congrats to Bills!

Art, the Bills play the Chiefs next Sunday. The Chiefs lucked out to win today on a blocked field goal. The Bills need their two injured wide receivers to get healthy fast! Congratulations on a clutch win! McCaffrey will look better next week.
