This week started out with the Buffalo Bills 3-point favorites over the Miami Dolphins in a game for the AFC Division Championship. Now, Vegas has adjusted the point spread to make the Bills 2 1/2 point favorites. The Miami Dolphins have clinched a Playoff berth, but they would certainly want the home field Playoff game that comes with an AFC Division Championship. The Bills, on the other hand, don’t have a Playoff berth. Their best path to the Playoffs is to win this game and become AFC East Champs. Is your favorite NFL team in a Playoff race?
I think so but so many things have to happen I’m not holding out hope for them! The Seahawks, that is!
Bob, four of the NFL divisions are still up for grabs! Anything can happen!
Anything did happen. They won the game but lost a chance to make the playoffs!
The Giants haven’t been in the playoff race all year, and they will limp away after the finale against the Eagles, who have been reeling themselves and need to beat the Giants.
But more importantly, will the Bills win in Miami or will they be going home? The Steelers’ win puts the pressure on them. Go, Bills!
Jeff, we’re dealing with a couple inches of snow that fell overnight. It’s raining in Miami right now, but weather conditions look good for tonight’s game for all the marbles!
We had a lot of rain yesterday morning in the Carolinas, but by the time we got to Georgia it was 75 and sunny!
We’re south of St. Augustine now and it is a cool but sunny 60.
Jeff, the weather in Miami should be good tonight. If the game were played here, both teams would be slip-sliding away!
We missed it all, but amazingly, the Giants smoked the reeling Eagles, and the Bills are in before the first kickoff. But they need to beat the Dolphins to host the Steelers next week, as I understand it, otherwise it will be back in Miami for a rematch? And the Saints are out. probably deservedly so.
In order to have a post-season berth, not only do the 8-8 Saints have to beat the 7-9 Falcons in the Super Dome today, but the pathetic 2-14 Panthers must also somehow beat the 8-8 Buccaneers in North Carolina at the same time. Although the Saints & Buccaneers have matching 8-8 records, the Bucs are first in the NFC South because they have a better in-conference record than the Saints. While I know that unlikelier sporting events have transpired, I’m not holding out much hope that the Boys-in-Black-and-Gold will have a season left beyond today.
Deb, it’s hard when teams need to rely on “help” from other teams to make the Playoffs. But, Stranger Things Have Happened…
If the Saints win today, but the Buccaneers also win, the Saints still have a faint chance for a playoff berth: if BOTH the Packers and the Seahawks lose, the Saints will make the playoffs. The Saints are up 41-17 right now, so they’re doing their part!
