After winning two close games against the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions at Ford Field, the injury riddled Buffalo Bills (8-3) play their third Away Game in a row against the desperate New England Patriots (6-5). Patriots Head Coach Bill Belichick knows a lost to the Bills would probably end any hopes for a Playoff berth so expect this team to be going all out tonight. The Bills are 4 1/2 point favorites.
Here are some photos from our fun trip to New York City for Thanksgiving:
I disapprove of books as sculpture, but glad to see you two in presumed good company taking the snaps!
Todd, the Book Tower is in the Lobby of the Marriott Renaissance near Times Square. The books change every time we visit!
Glad you had a great trip!
Patti, we had a great visit to NYC! There were a few “bumps in the road.” We were unable to have Brunch with the Meyersons. SOME LIKE IT HOT was canceled. We had a two-hour delay at JFK. But, other than that, everything went smoothly with a lot of fun spending time with Patrick and Katie.
Where are the rest of the books?
I love that book pile. Sorry we couldn’t get together. Next time. We stayed at a Renaissance on 52nd Street once. Of course, with Jackie is all Marirott or nothing.
Go, Bills! I think even non-Bills fans will be rooting for them to beat the Patriots.
Jeff, hope Jackie is feeling better. Patrick is sad because he will be losing his Marriott “Ambassador” status because he did not spend $20,000 at Marriotts in 2022. He will be “reduced” to “Titanium” status. Diane and I used to stay at the Marriott Marque near Times Square, but now Diane prefers the Marriott Renaissance on 7th Avenue.
Wow!
This brings fond memories …
NYC used to be my favourite US destination becalater DVDsuse I did not find another city where you would see the same number of bookstores, especially for Science Fiction. For records, CDs and later DVDs Manhattan also was number one – only for jeans etc some of the outlets in other places were comparable.
Is Forbidden Planet still active?
Last time I was there they had moved to a much smaller store and it looked like going out of business soon …
The only problem I had with NYC that hotels were just too expensive.
Soory, this “becalater DVDsuse” should of course be just “because”. Sometimes my thick “sausage fingers” as we call them in German are a problem – using a smartphone is difficult for me without that special pen.
Wolf, my fingers are sometimes clumsy, too. But most of my “mistakes” are caused by the demon WORDPRESS Spellchecker!
Wolf, when you have a son who works for GOOGLE and has “Ambassador” status with Marriott, the hotel room is FREE!
love the tower of books. I like to stay at the marriott marquis in NYC not sure when I’ll get there again
Maggie, we liked to stay at the Marriott Marquis for years, but now we prefer the Marriott Renaissance. Diane found some $89 tickets on jetBlue so our trip was very affordable. And the flight from Buffalo to NYC is just an hour.
I think my colleagues and I stayed at the Marriott Marquis once on one of my business trips in the 80s. Times Square was like a different world for us.
Since I’m a curious person I just looked it up – more than 500$ per night now!
Wolf, inflation has hit the hotel industry…hard!
