The 13-3 Buffalo Bills travel to New England to take on the 3-13 Patriots. The Bills are 3-point favorites since the Bills are “resting” Josh Allen and other starters who will only make a brief appearance in this game before the Second String players take over in what is essentially a Pre-Season Game for the Bills. The Bills own the Number 2 seed in the AFC Playoffs, win or lose.
As of now, the Patriots hold the Number One slot in the NFL Draft. Should the Patriots win this game, they might lose that position. How hard will the Patriots play? And, who will they play in this game? Will they risk injury to QB Drake Maye in a meaningless game?
How will your favorite NFL team perform today?
The powerhouse 3-13 Giants, riding the one game winning streak that cost them the #1 pick in the draft, which, I must say, they probably would have squandered on a handful of magic beans, travels to Philadelphia to end their woeful season against the Eagles. Even if the Eagles rest everyone, it’s been years since the Giants beat them, and that won’t change today.
Pathetic. At least Saquon Barkley will not be going for a new rushing record against his former team, as he is taking the day off.
Jeff, at least the Eagles are protecting their best asset: Saquon Barkley. I know a lot of fans are angry Barkley isn’t going to break the rushing record, but the Playoff are only a week away! The Giants are an enigma wrapped in a riddle.
The 5-11 Saints will mercifully put the final nail in the coffin of their awful season by journeying to Tampa Bay to take on the Bucs, who—despite a rather lackluster 9-7 record—are in line to win the NFC South. I expect the Saints to display the ineptitude and rudderless play that has characterized their 2024 season.
Deb, injuries derailed the Saints this season. I’m guessing the Saints will be active in the Free Agent market…and the NFL Draft.
How can you let the Bills lose to the lowly Patriots!? For shame! Although, it seems like a lot of the lousy teams put on a good show today! Maybe the playoff-bound teams benched their stars so they’ll be healthy for the post-season!
At the risk of sounding like a fake fan, when did the regular season go to 17 games!? Seems they keep changing the rules when I’m not looking! I hate the new kickoff protocol, for example! How do you do an onside kick!?
Bob, as much as you dislike the new NFL Kickoff Protocol (I hate it, too!), the Onside Kick rule is idiotic. You have to “Announce” you’re going to execute an onside kick in advance. No surprises! No wonder the 2024 success rate for onside kicks is 7%!
You never used to have to announce an onside kick! Maybe now you do so you can change the alignment of the players!
Bob, I used to enjoy the impact of a surprise onside kick! This new format sucks!
Fortunately we were on the road, so didn’t have to pay attention to the Giants today. It wasc60 when we got to Georgia, and should be one more warm day tomorrow – near 80 in South Florida – before the cold wave reaches even down there.
Our timing was impeccable for once, this year.
Jeff, the storm is moving east. The schools in Washington, D.C. and Philadelphia are closed on Monday because of the storm. Your timing was perfect!
