BUFFALO BILLS VS. NEW YORK JETS

bills jets
The last second comeback of the Bills over the Carolina Panthers galvanized Bills fans this week. This week’s opponent, the New York Jets, poses a unique situation: rookie quarterback vs. rookie quarterback. Bills rookie QB E. J. Manuel faces Jets rookie QB Gino Smith in this 4:15 P.M. game. I’ll be driving from Albany back to North Tonawanda as you’re reading this after an awesome BOUCHERCON.

What’s going to happen to your favorite NFL team today?

I think the Jets slide continues(Buffalo looks on the upswing these days). Some folks think the Panthers will hand the Giants their third loss of the season. Not sure there.

And the ‘Skins. I’ve come to the conclusion RG III is not nearly as healthy as the team says. He doesn’t move like he did early last season and if they are deliberately not using designed running plays for him, it takes away from what made him unique last year. He just becomes ordinary.

The Giants better get their act together in Carolina or the season will be spiraling down the drain.

Glad you had a good time in Albany and have a safe trip home!

The 2-0 Saints meet the 1-1 Cardinals in the Superdome (excuse me, the Mercedes Benz Superdome) this afternoon. The Who-Dat Nation will be hoping for a decisive win of blowout proportions because the Saints’ two previous wins were both essentially squeakers that could have gone either way–but we’ll settle for a check in the Win column, no matter how it comes about.

Jeff, my Rogue may need a new suspension with all the books I’m bringing back. Loved the Albany BOUCHERCON (despite a few flaws). I’ll have by BOUCHERCON trip report up on my blog tomorrow. The Giants face a MUST WIN game in Carolina today. Now I have a 5 hour drive ahead of me.

Have a safe drive, George. Though by the time you read this you’ll probably be home, unloading your new friends. (it’s Noon your time as I write this) Five hours doesn’t sound too bad: couple hours, stop for a snack and maybe gas up, couple more hours and home. I’ll bet you have an audiobook to listen to.

    Seahawks should win today.

Rick, I’m home safe and sound. I listened to a bunch of music CDs (reviews on the blog in the coming weeks) instead of an audiobook. The Seahawks are favored by 20 points over the Jags!

I got home about 4 hours ago after a 3 1/2 hour drive from Stayton, Oregon. It rained half the time. I’m beat, but still happy about the Seahawks win.
