After their bye week, the 3-2 Saints are journeying to Seattle to take on the 2-4 Seahawks in tomorrow’s Monday Night Football game. The outcome will depend on which Saints team shows up: Offensive/defensive powerhouse or anemic offense/Swiss cheese defense. Only time will tell.
Meanwhile, I haz a sad this morning as the injury-depleted Dodgers lost the NLCS to the Braves last night. The Braves are going to the World Series where they will take on the Houston Astros. At least my loyalties will not be torn—I’ll be screaming for the ‘Stros the whole way!
Patti, our trees are finally starting to turn colorful. We’ve been way above average for temperatures in October. We’re supposed to hit 39 degrees tonight.
In Germany and in Hungary we now have -2 to – 4 Celsius, that’s 25 – 30 degrees Fahrenheit.
And our forests are colourful like Indian summer – really wonderful!
But during the day it’s quite warm – up to 15 C, almost 60 Fahrenheit.
Wolf, Western NY is in the 50 degree range. Tonight we’re supposed to cool down to the 30s. Of course those temps are Fahrenheit.

Even though I’m pulling for the Braves for obvious reasons, I’d find it impossible to pull for any team from Texas right now. I wish we could slice the state off the US and give it to Mexico for a Christmas present.
Jeff, the Bye Week could not come at a better time for the Bills. So many injuries! I don’t know how these NFL teams are going to make it through a 17-game season…and Playoffs!
The Lions get to play against their former QB-Matthew Stafford. They will still be the only team without a win in the NFL. I can see them going o-17 this year.
Huh. Sunday. Dodgers lost so our interest in baseball has ended. Don’t particularly like the WS teams.
Football: Ducks won, I expect Seahawks to get beat Monday. But who cares? The broadcasts are so full of sports betting crap I hate to watch, even muted. I’ll read a book this rainy cool day in Portland, whenever my headache goes away. Damn migraines.
Beautiful leaf color here, but the wind and rain are knocking them off. Enjoying while we can.
Rick, we have a number of casinos in our area that are hyping their Sports Books. Plus Draft-Kings commercials show up constantly on all our cable channels. I fear the results of this unleashed gambling!
There’s always been gambling on sports in Nevada and in casinos on the Rez. It’s the stuff on TV that irritates me.

So not only did the Giants win but it was 25-3? This team is inexplicable.
We were at the matinee of To Kill a Mockingbird. The theater was, somewhat surprisingly, packed, but everyone had to show proof of vaccination and ID, and they came around and made sure everyone kept their masks on the entire time.
I thought it was well done but long – two hours and 45 minutes. You’re so familiar with the book and the movie that you know what’s coming. Aaron Sorkin did take some liberties. Original stars Jeff Daniels and Celia Keenan-Bolger, who won a Tony as Scout, returned to the show for its reopening. It was a little jarring to see adults playing the kids’ roles of Scout, Jem and Dill.

Hate. The. Cheaters.
I mean the Astros.
Jeff, I suspect most baseball fans are rooting for the Braves.
Huh? What did they do?
Deb, I’ll be banging on the trash cans for the Astros!
She is obviously in a place warmer than here. In the thirties this morning.

Giants play Carolina. Half their offense is sidelined with injuries. Even when they had them they lost, so not looking good.

Michael, there was a “Secede from the United States” movement in Texas a few years ago.

Steve, just think of the top 2022 Draft Picks the Lions will select!

Jeff, what did you think of TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD? The touring company is coming to Buffalo in the Spring.

Jeff, I heard TO KILL A MOCKINGBIRD was long.
