Anyone interested in guitar music should check out this 2-DVD set of Eric Clapton’s yearly festival, Crossroads 2010. Eric Clapton plays brilliantly. Steve Winwood joins in. Plenty of top-notch guitarists play in this festival. I enjoyed the Earl Klugh selections. B.B. King’s extended version of “The Thrill is Gone” will stun you. Just glance at the performances including on these DVDs. There’s something here for everyone. GRADE: A

Nice lineup! We’ve seen a number of these performers over the years. We first saw B. B. King back at the Fillmore East some 40 or so years ago! He has to sit during his performances now, but he’s still B. B. King.
We saw Derek Trucks (who is married to Susan Tedeschi) opening for (and playing with) Santana a couple of years ago, and we saw Steve Winwood last year. And we saw Buddy Guy and Jonny Lang opening (separate concerts) for George Thorogood & the Destroyers.
Sonny Landreth backs up Jimmy Buffett fairly often and we’ve also seen him at Jazzfest in New Orleans.
Guitar pyrotechnics abound on this DVD, Jeff. Plenty of great performances!
How was Sarah?
Diane and I loved the Sarah McLachlan concert, Patti. Instead of having an opening act, Sarah and her band started playing around 7:30 PM, and other than a 20 minute Intermission, kept playing until 10:30 PM. Sarah sang all of her hits. She was in fine voice. If Sarah has a tour stop near you, I highly recommend you attend!
This DVD sounds like great fun!
