BBC America is running a Doctor Who Marathon this weekend. If you’re a Doctor Who fan or if you’re curious about what all the fuss is about, I’d urge you to set your DVR and get caught up on these recent episodes. I like Matt Smith, the 11th Doctor. I like his companion, the fetching Amy Pond (played by Karen Gillan) even more. Redhead fans, take note! At 9:00 P. M. EDT, BBC America plans to broadcast a new episode of Doctor Who. You know I’ll be watching.
Wish I could get Phil interested in this sort of show.
Here’s your chance, Patti. DOCTOR WHO will be on all day long. If you could have Phil watch the episode where the Tardis is embodied in a woman (Neil Gaiman wrote the script), Phil would be hooked.
Or is Phil like some of us (waves at Diane) and glued to The Weather Channel?
When Diane isn’t listening to NPR, she’s watching THE WEATHER CHANNEL, Jeff. When a huge weather event like Hurricane Irene hits, it’s like the Super Bowl to her!
Like the companion – she’s the best one in years. The new doctor – eh.
Matt Smith is sometimes a bit manic for my taste, Stan. But the convoluted plots of these recent DOCTOR WHOs keep me interested.
He’s definitely no David Tennant but he’s not bad.
David Tennant was certainly a cooler Doctor Who, but Matt Smith’s idiosyncratic Doctor has won me over, Jeff.
George, I haven’t looked at the radar lately, but one trusts that you and your family are not going to feel the wet lash of Irene’s wrath. Or at least not immodertaly so.
Thanks for the concern, Drongo, but Western NY is safe from Hurricane Irene. The effects of the storm will only extend to Syracuse (about 150 miles west of us). I’m concerned about the Meyersons who will affected when Hurricane Irene hits New York City.
I do not know other peoples opinions but I thought the 11th Doctor was the best of all
Sara, I grew up watching Tom Baker as The Doctor but Matt Smith was wonderful in the role.
