Jeff, Diane read TOM LAKE and then wanted to hear Meryl Streep narrate it. So when the 9-disc audiobook arrived, Diane and I would listen to a disc per day while we were eating lunch. Meryl Steep does a wonderful job!

Michael Connelly’s Desert Star was the only novel that received four stars in my one to four-star rating system. FIfteen others received three and one half including Glasgow-based crime novels, The Blood Tide and The Night Watch, by Neil Lancaster, who was my new author of the year. Quintin Jardine had two books in that category. I also liked William Landay’s All That Is Mine I Carry With Me and Small Mercies by Dennis Lehane. In total, I read 105 books this year.

Kent, I have a copy of Michael Connelly’s DESERT STAR around here somewhere. I’ll have to search for it. I’ve heard of Neil Lancaster and Quintin Jardine but don’t have any of their books. I’ll have to take a look at William Landry’s ALL THAT IS MINE I CARRY WITH ME and Dennis Lehane’s SMALL MERCIES. I’m impressed by your 105 books read in 2023.
