My favorites are Oppenheimer, Killers of the Flower Moon, Mission Impossible, The Killer and Anatomy of a Fall. I didn’t like Saltburn or Maestro (way too arty and Bradley Cooper too manic). I liked the first two thirds of Barbie but felt the last third too preachy.
Steve, BARBIE trails off a bit at the End but there are rumors that a sequel is in the works. I’ll give MAESTRO a try on Netflix, but Bernstein was manic, too.
We don’t see many movies these days, and most of them are old ones we’re rewatching (and which I would take over any new movie).
We’ve seen Nyad (with Annette Bening & Jodie Foster), A Million Miles Away (about the first Mexican American astronaut), American Symphony (documentary about Jon Batiste), The Wind Rises (Miyazaki), and Leave the World Behind (Julia Roberts, Ethan Hawke) in the last couple of months. That’s it. But we’ve watched Airplane!, It’s a Wonderful Life, Meet Me in St. Louis, Love Actually, and will watch Two for the Road and When Harry Met Sally… on New Year’s Eve.
Jeff, WHEN HARRY MET SALLY is Diane’s favorite movie. It’s been a whirlwind time with Patrick and Katie home. Plus we’ve had visitors every day–they want to see Patrick and Katie…and us–so schedules and routines have been disrupted. Patrick and Katie are flying out on Friday. We’re hoping for Good Weather!
