Warner Brothers has just issued another collection of great noir films. Included in this set are Cornered, Desperate, The Phenix City Story, Deadline at Dawn, Armored Car Robbery, Crime in the Streets, Dial 1119, and Backfire. I’ve always been fond of Deadline at Dawn which is based on a Cornell Woolrich novel. This set lists for $49.99. AMAZON is selling it for $37.99. I bought it at BJ’s Warehouse for a mere $29.99. Scoop this set up before they’re all gone!
I don’ think I’ve seen any of these but Cornered. Looks great.
I’ve enjoyed the previous four box-sets of CLASSIC NOIR, Patti. This fifth set is a winner, too!
DEADLINE AT DAWN is my favorite Woolrich novel. I’ve always wondered if the film did the book justice.
I’ve always liked this 1946 film version of DEADLINE AT DAWN, Drongo. My favorite Woolrich is THE BRIDE WORE BLACK.
Your Blog is very cool!! I searched on Thursday in Google for Woolrich and I found your interesting article. Thank you 🙂
I’m a big fan of Cornell Woolrich, Lida. I’ll try to review more of his work now that I know you’re interested.
