I got my flu shot at Rite Aid. While I was picking up some prescriptions for Diane and me, the pharmacist asked me if I wanted a flu shot. “They just came in,” he explained.
There was no one in line so I said, “Sure.” I filled out the paperwork and minutes later I got jabbed in my left arm. “This new flu formulation is supposed to last longer,” the pharmacist told me. Good to know.
Are you going to get a flu shot? When?
I always get one, but I wait until October when it’s closer to flu season.
Steve, the pharmacist told me their Rite Aid store may run out of flu shots by October.
The only two times I contracted a more than subclinical case of the flu as an adult have been the two times I’ve taken a flu shot. Nonetheless, I’ll definitely consider getting the monkeypox shot when there’s enough made available, and probably should review my polio records…
Todd, I’m on the bubble about monkeypox. But, I plan to consult with my internist about it.
I always get one, but generally in September or October.
Deb, there may be a shortage of flu shots this season according to the pharmacist.
I’ll get one in September as I always do, and I’ve heard there’s another Covid booster coming, possibly by November. Probably a lot of people are wondering whether they got the polio vaccine years ago. That’s the only childhood vaccine I specifically remember, and I got it when it became available in the mid-50s. I was 9-10, and at that time everybody, especially kids, was scared shitless of polio. Everyone was really happy to get that sugar cube with drops of the vaccine.
Michael, NYC found polio virus in their waste water. Plus, some people in the Big Apple have contract polio. If my internist recommends it, I’ll go for a polio booster.
Yes,s I’ll get one, but robably in Octorber. August is just too early.
Jeff, as Michael pointed out, a new Covid-19 booster should come out in October or November. I’m just trying to space these shots out.
Our guy told us to wait until October, as usual. We will definitely get another booster when it is available.
Jeff, Patrick and Katie’s friend, Amber, just got Covid-19 for the THIRD time! Yes, she’s been vaccinated and boosted. Some people seem to be more vulnerable to this virus than others.
The one year I got it this early, I got the flu in February so I think i will wait another month.
Patti, I have not gotten the flu since I started getting flu shots about 20 years ago. But, plenty of my students did!
I will also get mine (like every year) together with my second booster when I’m back in Germany at the end of September.
If my doc tells me to get another shot too I will follow his advice of course.
