Graham Greene wrote this wicked little novel in 1966. Greene creates a group of off-beat characters and sets them in corrupt South American country where murder lurks behind every door. If you’re looking for suspense and sudden death, The Comedians delivers. There was also an effective movie version of this novel that you might want to check out.

I remember reading this one – my first Greene – after the Burton-Taylor-Guinness film came out in 1967.

may I know its publishing time and publishing house?

your information has been most helpful, thank you so much. Do you happen to have the book? Would you be so kind as to tell me what’s on the back cover of it? I can’t find this version anywhere. Thanks again.

Hi, Patty. Sorry, I don’t own this particular edition of THE COMEDIANS. It seems to be a Canadian book club edition so you might check Canadian used bookstores online. Most libraries didn’t buy book club editions so that’s one reason this edition is so scarce.

Patty, ABE.COM might have a copy at a lower price in the weeks ahead. You should check the web site from time to time just in case.
