Just about everyone who’s a mystery fan knows that Joseph Hansen made publishing history in 1970 with Fadeout, the first detective novel that featured an openly gay investigator, Dave Brandstetter. But how many mystery fans know that Hansen published 12 Dave Brandstetter mysteries? I didn’t know that until I saw The Complete Brandstetter offered by Daedalus Books at http://salesbooks.com. The omnibus collection published by England’s No Exit Press (www.noexit.co.uk) contains all 12 of the Brandstetters at a bargain price. Don’t miss this one!
I agree. Hansen’s books are well worth a look.
I read the first eight or nine books in the Brandstetter series, but lost track of the last few titles. Now that I have all the Brandsetter novels in one fat volume, I’ll have to catch up.
I knew it, having read all 12 and several of his other books.
Is it really $5.98 for all 12? And how fat is the book?
Yes, it’s really $5.98 for all 12 Brandstetter books! It’s almost 3 inches thick, but the book is nicely done. Well worth the money.
Those boots hanging out of the car window are very enticing. All in one though? It must be a doorstop at 3 inches.
Yes, it’s a doorstop. But it’s an inexpensive doorstop! I like the cover, too.
