Just in time for the Holidays, Hard Case Crime offers a gift for that Hard-to-Buy-For person on your Gift List. Ms. Tree: Heroine Withdrawal features a new collection of classic detective stories featuring a P. I. at her graphic best.
Ms. Tree: Heroine Withdrawal is the fifth volume Hard Case Crime has published in their Ms. Tree series. Max Allan Collins and artist Terry Beatty provide these noirish tales with plenty of action and adventure.
Who wouldn’t want a fabulous book like Ms. Tree: Heroine Withdrawal under their tree? GRADE: A
This is the real deal. MS. TREE has the distinction of being the longest-running detective comic in history. I’m a big fan and have read several of the Hard Case Crime volumes; time for me to complete the series. ( I’ve also read plus one paperback collection, and a novelization by Collins.) At one point I owned about half of the total issues.
Jerry, I figured you’d be a Ms. Tree fan! I love these Hard Case Crime volumes and they make wonderful holiday gifts! Let me know if you’d like a copy of MS. TREE: HEROINE WITHDRAWAL. AMAZON sent me TWO copies! That extra copy could be yours!
Oh, yes! he said. On bended knees and slathering with anticipation, while still trying to act super-cool so as to not blow his world famous suave image.
Jerry, okay. MS. TREE: HEROINE WITHDRAWAL will be in the mail to you next week. Ho, ho, ho!
Is this a comic book, graphic novel, illustrated novel!?
Thanks for the package, BTW! Much appreciated!
Bob, MS. TREE: HEROINE WITHDRAWAL collects episodes from the comic book series. Glad your CHRISTMAS BOX arrived safely!
Check and double-check your and Jerry’s endorsements. Good stuff.
Fred, I’m a big fan of Max Allan Collins and his work. MS. TREE is one of his best series.
Right. By coincidence, I just read the latest (last?) Quarry book by Collins, which you reviewed recently. Glad to see he’s still writing after 50 years.
Jeff, I’ve enjoyed the dozens of Max Allan Collins books I’ve read over those 50 years. Collins is a consummate pro and always delivers a compelling story.
You know, I’ve perhaps read one comics story in the series…while reading his prose works over the years.
Garters under overcoats…some days, particularly cold ones, I’m glad no one would prefer to see me in such a get-up.
Todd, many of us would pay money to see yon in such a get up. But that’s only because we’re evil.
Everyone would pay more never to see it. My retirement plan in a duster, rather than nutshell.
Todd, notice that the woman on the cover of MS. TREE: HEROINE WITHDRAWAL has a passing resemblance to Taylor Swift.
Ah…someone was being cute.
Todd, I’ve always considered Taylor Swift cute…and very bright.
