I’m a fan of Sharon Jones and The Dap-Kings. I own all their CDs and enjoy listening to them. Their latest CD, Give The People What They Want, was supposed to be released during the Summer of 2013. But Sharon Jones’ heath problems delayed the CD until now. Once again, it was great to listen to Sharon Jones sing soulful songs backed by The Dap-Kings! If you enjoy soul music, you’ll find some good listening here! Check out the video below. GRADE: B+

Dapping is the elaborate hand slaps and shakes black guys do when they meet, in case you didn’t know. I’m not sure it’s the in thing theses days.

George: did you watch the Grammy’s last night? Opinions?
Rick, I watched the Grammys for a little while but got annoyed by the antics on stage. Let’s face it, the Grammy’s aren’t about music anymore. It’s all about the spectacle. I could have done without Katy Perry and her flames. I could have done without Taylor Swift giving herself whiplash during a very mediocre song. I did like Pink’s high-wire antics, but again it was the spectacle…not the music.
