Boston College’s graduation ceremonies are today. By the time you read this, Diane, Patrick, and I will be heading over to the BC campus. Katie will stroll across the stage in a few hours and accept her Master’s Degree. Then, the job hunt begins. But the field of Elder Care is growing so I’m sure Katie will find a good job. Katie wants to stay in Boston so that narrows the job search. Congratulations, Katie!
And congrats to YOU George, for seeing her through it!
Thanks, Dan! Most of the credit goes to Diane. Moms and daughters have a Special Relationship.
Congratulations!! And Boston is a great place to visit.
We’ve been in Boston since Saturday, Patti. Wonderful weather! The traffic is very heavy because it seems like there’s a graduation somewhere every day! Half the people here at the Holiday Inn at Brooklyn are here to watch their kids graduate.
Congratulations to both Kelley kids (and their parents). You have a lot to be proud of.
I hope your weather is better than ours is today (it’s lightning and thunder at the moment).
And if not Boston, Florida is always an option.
😉
The rain is supposed to hold off until this evening, Jeff. We’re about to take a cab over to the Boston College campus. It’s not worth driving in this traffic. Plus, parking on campus will be impossible. Thanks for your kind words. We lucked out when the stork brought us Patrick and Katie!
Congratulations to Katie! I hope she ends up in a job she loves.
You and Diane have good kids.
Thanks for the kind words, Beth! You’re right about Patrick and Katie being good kids. We raised them to be honest and hard-working.
Congrats to the quite academically accomplished Ms. Kelly! Is she through with school for a while, or is she in a field where a Ph.D is encouraged?
Oh, and how did Patrick’s trip to Barcelona go?
Katie may go back for a Ph.D., Drongo. But right now she wants to get a job and make some money. Patrick loved his Barcelona trip. A job offer should arrive next week. Presently, Patrick has job offers from the University of Colorado at Denver, the University of New Mexico, and GOOGLE.
Congrats to all. Seems she picked a good field, not so easy these days.
BTW if I don’t comment for a few days, it’s because I’m on my way to a pre-surgical consult, which will be followed by surgery and a hospital stay. Wish me luck. I’m scared to death.
Hang in there, Rick! I went through major surgery last summer and I’ll be facing it again next month. Just do what your doctors tell you to do and you’ll be okay. Heal quickly and we’ll be waiting for your online return!
Rick – good luck. Worrying doesn’t help, so try and think positive thoughts.
I know, easy to say.
Good advice, Jeff! A positive attitude is worth a ton of pills.
Thanks, Jeff and George. At least I like the surgeon. It’s now scheduled for June. I was surprised at the estimated length of the hospital stay: 10 days. Man, that’s a long time with the constant pinging and bonging and being bothered by nurses all night. I never sleep in the hospital. Then 5-6 weeks of severe restrictions on diet, lifting (10 lb.), stairs, etc. Poor Barbara.
Yes, Rick, what would we do without our wives when we’re convalescing? I needed a lot of help (especially getting in and out of the shower) after my knee surgery last year. Diane was helpful and patient.
Much congratulations! And best wishes on a quick, successful job search.
Katie has some interviews scheduled for next week, Carl. Hopefully, she’ll have a job before too long.
