Perhaps not the best choice of picture (I mean, Bogart was 54 and Hepburn 25 at the time), but we get the idea. Happy Anniversary! I’m sure you have your usual celebratory dinner planned, perhaps after watching the Bills host the Jets (in a basically meaningless game).
In other news, the Giants will complete a feat last done in their Yale Bowl days nearly 50 years ago – lost EVERY home game, after their loss to Indianapolis this afternoon in the rain.
Congrats to an old man and his younger than springtime bride! Diane is to also be congratulated for keeping you on the straight and narrow and out of jail for so many years.
Congratulations to you both on achieving such a milestone! Have a wonderful day full of love and laughter and (of course) good food—including, naturally, something with chocolate.
Meanwhile, we’re going to the races today. We were going to go yesterday, but the weather was bad, so we changed our plans. We decided we’d rather have “a little flutter on the gee-gees” (as the English say) than watch the 5-10 Saints host the 3-12 Raiders in what will undoubtedly be a stumblebum game to see which team can make the most boneheaded errors.
Congratulations to you both, George and Scott, and the women you share these celebrations with! (No footballing appended. If necessary, I’ll ask Alice to append.)
Congratulations to both of you – and your family for which you are a perfect “Vorbild” – which might be translated as example or better paragon/role model.
I wish you both many more happy years together, young man!
A frined of mine who likes bad and sarcastic jokes would say here:
And how many more years are you obliged to spend together?
I had to look it up, but I first “met” you, George – via mimeo via USPS – in Fall 1977. So I’ve known you two as a couple for the entire stretch. I love you both and congratulate you both. And hope to still be around to congratulate you again, year after year, ’til 50 and beyond!
Neeru, the weather here in Western NY was rainy and windy. Many of our best restaurants are closed on Sundays. So we’re going to celebrate our Anniversary later this week with another couple who are celebrating their Anniversary, too.
“Like a river flows…
…Some things were meant to be!”
Dan, marrying Diane was the luckiest thing I ever did!

Jeff, the Giants managed to pull off a win and eliminate the Colts from the Playoffs!
I know. I couldn’t believe it. That 100 yard kickoff return and Nabors’ two touchdowns were unexpected to say the least.
Jeff, the Colts made a run at the Giants in the Fourth Quarter, but the Giants pulled it out and eliminated them from the Playoffs.

Jerry, I appreciate being spared incarceration over these 46 years!

Deb, the Buffalo Bills delivered a nice Anniversary win by beating the NY Jets 40-14 and scoring the No. 2 Seed in the AFC Playoffs!
It wasn’t that close! 40-0 until two late, meaningless Jets countdown after the A -Team’s day was done.
Jeff, I suspect with the win over the Jets and locking up the No. 2 Seed in the AFC Playoffs, many Bills starters will “rest” next week in Foxboro.
Congratulations! Sandi and I celebrate 45 today!!
Scott, congratulations to you and Sandi!
Congratulations. And they said it wouldn’t last!!!
Patti, it feels more like six years than 46 years!
Congratulations to you both, George and Scott, and the women you share these celebrations with! (No footballing appended. If necessary, I’ll ask Alice to append.)
Todd, Diane is even a bigger NFL football fan than I am. She was thrilled by the Bills taking out the Jets 40-14!
Congratulations to both of you – and your family for which you are a perfect “Vorbild” – which might be translated as example or better paragon/role model.

Wolf, I’ll take as many years with Diane as I can get!
I had to look it up, but I first “met” you, George – via mimeo via USPS – in Fall 1977. So I’ve known you two as a couple for the entire stretch. I love you both and congratulate you both. And hope to still be around to congratulate you again, year after year, ’til 50 and beyond!
Art, yes, you’ve been with us the whole 46 years and we’re hoping you stay around to congratulate us for many more years!
I probably said this last year, but Glen and I have been married about the same time as you two. Our anniversary is in January.
Happy anniversary, you and Diane make a beautiful couple.
Tracy, Happy Anniversary in advance to you and your husband!
Many Many Happy Returns of the Day, George. Enjoy!!!

Congratulations to both of you!
When two nice people find each other, it’s not surprising that they can go the distance.
Beth, thanks for your kind words (and your marvelous CHRISTMAS BOX!).
George, Congratulations and Happy Anniversary to you both! May the New Year, and the years ahead, bring you health, happiness and countless blessings.
Prashant, good to hear from you again! Your kind wishes mean a lot to Diane and me!
